Ain't got nothing better to do, and I'm bored

I recently picked up the cheek riser sold on ebay that is made by a gent that I believe is a member here.
It completely changed the feel of the cheek weld for the better. Very useful option for only a few bucks and about 1 ounce. |
It's a mighty long way down to rock 'n roll, from the Liverpool docks to the Hollywood Bowl...

For some reason, ever since the ARX first came out people have been wanting to compare it to bottom of the barrel ARs and the Tavor. I've always thought that this thought process was kind of bizarre. View Quote Of course, I had a WORD document typed out that I would copy & paste into a thread regarding the "SCAR doesn't do anything" comments. It was something along the lines of ... A) Side folding stock; B) Reciprocating charging handle; C) Adjustable gas block (granted some AR15 have this feature); D) Monolithic upper rail (granted some AR15 have this feature); E) Piston gas operating system (granted some AR15 have this feature); F) Ambi controls (granted some AR15 have this feature); G) "Arguably" cleaner running system; H) Barrel change capability without use of a vice (granted some AR15 have this feature); I) It is different for those of us that have owned AR15s for 3 or 4 decades. Of course, the guy with a $2,000 LWRC would chime in and say: "my AR has adjustable gas, piston drive, ambi controls, and runs clean". At the time lots of mint SCAR-16s were floating around the internet (including this site) for $1800-2000....thus negating the original argument. The loquacious point being ... We're never going to convince the guy that thinks his $400 AR-15 is the cat's pajamas that anything with a $1000 price tag is worth while. We're never going to convince the DI is perfectly acceptable crowd that anything other than a: BCM; Colt; Daniel Defense; or KAC DI AR15 is needed for "serious work" (however they define it). |

Well, originally the ARX was priced to compete with the other Gen 3 rifles. The MSRP was, and might still be close to $2000.00.
It took awhile for the price to get to where it's at now, and I still feel like it's $1200.00 to $1500.00 rifle selling for way less than it should be selling for. |

CZUB is listing the 308 version of the Bren on its website.
https://www.czub.cz/en/produkty/automaticke-zbrane/cz-bren-2-br.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRz-ZH7Axgc Gotta wonder if this might motivate Beretta to consider a commercial ARX-200 variant already, for God's sake. |
|
|
Beretta should released the ARX200...but I doubt they will. To civilians that is.

Makes me wonder if they’ll sell these to 07/02 licensees or chop up the receivers and sell the parts like we suspect is happening with their ARX100 SBR’s they have in stock. |

Decided to pull the trigger and get one from Academy. It took them almost an hour after my ‘proceed’ came back to get all their documents printed for their records as their computer and printer weren’t cooperating. The manager kept apologizing and I reassured him it was fine and I wasn’t in a hurry and was very nice to him and the staff. When he walked it up to the registers, he told the cashier to price match it at $699.99. I almost fell over and thanked him profusely. Apparently Academy has an additional 5% off price matches and I got an additional $35 off. With tax I walked out for $711.
It pays to be nice. |

Haven't managed to make my way through all 68 pages yet. Do 300 blackout barrels for these things actually exist yet?

My understanding is reliability issues. Same reportedly with the Steyr AUG...

I stocked up on essential spare parts for the ARX through Brownells.
I haven't seen anything reported on these breaking...but you never know...it is always good to have all the springs, firing pin, recoil assembly and some other trigger parts on hand. |

There is a bad apple out of the bunch...all the ones I have owned have been utter reliable with no issues (I am on my 3rd).
