FWIW, I've never heard of stainless plating.
The stainless guns I've encountered have all been made from stainless blanks. |

I don't believe you can do what you want... you can plate Stainless steel but you can't coat something else with stainless steel.
Your best bet would be a Nickel plating is my guess |

The reason that you can't plate stainless is because stainless steel is an alloy. As an alloy it is made up of nickel, chromium, iron, carbon, etc.
Plating works with metals that are pure elements such as nickel, chromium, gold, etc. |

Most nickel plate has a yellowish cast to it. Unless you plate the entire gun you're likely to have a color difference anyway. At that point I'd suggest a polished hard chrome for everything.
