Okay I'm trying to gather up my balls to spray paint my AR15 in multicam. I bought some tape stencils that are already cut out from Montactical. Just wondering if anyone here has spray painted their rifles in multicam, if so how did it turn out? I checked the picture threads for a " spray painted rifles" but I see no one started a dedicated picture thread for spray painted guns.  So if anyone has any pictures of their guns spray painted in multicam to help give me an idea that would be great... Also just another reason to show off your gun lol.  Any tips are also welcome.

I did one in sponge camo that turned out great. Just know that once you paint it you will NOT be able to easily undo it.

You won't be able to undo it easily, but it can be done with brake cleaner and a toothbrush.  Or...you can just repaint over it.  This is one that I did.  Still not totally happy with it, but the lighting of the picture doesn't do it justice.  This was freehand, with edge stencils cut out of a manilla folder.  I used Krylon and Rustoleum camo paints.

Here's another pic of the upper on a pistol lower, so it was legal to hunt with.  It is 300BLK, suppressed with a Form 1.  There is a little blood on the hand guard, but it shows the distinct advantage of any kind of paint versus the black components.

Well I did it. But I decided to paint my cheap ass WASR AK before i painted my AR.  I don't care how the AK turns out, it's my beat up gun. However I did not try for Multicam.

Biggest thing you need to worry about, especially with spray painting an expensive gun, is the prep work. That should over half your focus. Scrub it, get all the oils off, use acetone or non-chlorinated, residue free brake cleaner to draw out the oils and dirt in the current finish.  If your current finish sucks and you don't blast it off, it's only a matter of time before your new finish sucks. Same with the oils...if the paint doesn't adhere well, moisture will seep between the old and new layers of paint and could really cause some damage. Put the time in to prep and you should be good. The AK looks good dude.
