I'm getting ready to rattle can an AR and am curious as to how to best degrease the Aimpoint that rides on it.

I'm planning to hit the gun itself with non-chlorinated brake cleaner but I'm concerned that may not be a great idea for the optic, and potentially the WML as well.
Aimpoint is a Comp ML-3 if it's of any consequence.

Thanks for any pointers.

I've had good luck using a lint free cloth and denatured alcohol to degrease optics.

I've never used Simple Green.

Is it like soap?  Wash down w/ SG & Water & then rinse clean?

Yeah, just a mild solution.
Some people use dish detergent, but it seems too soapy to me.

Isopropyl alcohol is probably going to be the easiest, safest, most readily available thing.  get the highest concentration you can find
