Yup, wasn't hard.  Honestly,  the most time consuming part was peeling the tape from the  blossoms off. I did the whole thing just over the weekend.

Here's some of the production pics for people's reference:

They're great. I've had them for a couple years now, and they've held up great. Two Cola Wars, ~6mo of daily carry use, and a good few thousand rounds - still looking like new. I was worried about them at first, but the finish durability is much better than expected, and they're not half as slick as I expected.

I obviously wouldn't put them on a go-to-war gun, but otherwise? Hell yeah.

Thanks man.

Once it gets used a bit and fades/smooths out, I'm hoping it will look even cooler.

I thought it looked too bright when I painted it, but the coyote on the grip panels and the spots on the forend really toned it down.  I like the mixmaster look anyway, especially with a black barrel, black lower, and black optic

I had some arts and crafts time yesterday and decided to try and spider web effect for my 22lr and 300BLK pistols. The 22lr received a foliage green base from Krylon while the 300BLK wears camo khaki from Rustoleum. They both have the same, black graffiti spray paint from Montana Cans. The 22lr is also sporting an AFG inspired handguard I 3d printed.

I read all through this thread and finally decided to get aggressive today and try some rattle can. I've always loved the look of kryptek so went with sticker stencils.

I'm fine with it as a first try, I'll know what to do different next time. Couple spots look good, others not enough contrast. It was fun tho.

I wanna try a black and grey kryptek style pattern next.

Went back to the well, different stencils which was good in some ways but not others. I got the yellow, high heat stencils this time. The good - they're much stickier and stretch a little to work around edges. The bad - I don't like the pattern shapes quite as well, and not all the scales had cutouts so I wasn't able to do my colors exactly like I wanted.  Overall came out lighter than I intended and I may end up repainting. Or I'll let it wear and call it good. Probably the latter

6.5 Grendel, new build. Waiting for suppressor mount brake and a new handle, and this will become my night hunting gun.

Well I went ahead and painted my SBR and I freaking love it! Used Rust-Oleum camo Khaki, Deep Forest Green, and Earth Brown and a mesh laundry bag. Wish the mesh pattern had showed up a bit more, but when it wears I'll just repaint it and use a different mesh. Still very happy with it.

I think its a parallax tactical 10” (noveske nsr copy imo) but it was very cheap. The color is earth brown camouflage color from rustoleum.

@TGE  how do you like that optic?
@Removed_californian it's awesome, makes you really feel like the Predator at night. You can see anything and everything, and they can't see you. Amazing.

I've looked through a Trijicon ReapIR and a Pulsar Apex 50, and there other way to say it - they're just much more clear. But I didn't have another $3k-$5k, so I got this and I'm happy every time I go out hunting.

I can spot game from 800+ yards, I can see mice running in the field from 50 yards. Where the high-end thermals shine so much is IDing, but I can tell deer from hogs past 150 yards now, maybe more, and that's good enough for me.

Bottom line: I love it.

And pic thread, so here it is on the now-completed Grendel, along with the Alumahyded 300blk it replaced for hog hunting.

This is my first attempt at painting a gun. It was awesome!  There was something cathartic about spraying with reckless abandon.  I didn’t have an overall goal in mind, I was just trying out some different techniques.
