Very nice, please give up the details. Paints, technique, ect.

You got skillz...and a nice rifle.

I'm stripping my rifle this weekend and giving it another go. I won't be achieving multicam awesomeness but going with the mesh bag.

Tried to make a homemade Kryptek-ish pattern. I think it turned out okay. Used mostly Krylon and some Rustoleum

I really like the work you've done on the guns you've posted pics of. I don't expect you to give up your secrets, but are you making your own stencils? My newly built 12.5" barreled 6.8 is a prime candidate for getting Krylon'd.

The 14.5" gun is all Krylon Camo.  The 10.5" is all Aervoe.

Thanks Bosman! I just grabbed a mesh laundry bag from Walmart. I've tried smaller mesh patterns and larger ones(such as trunk cargo nets) and this size seems to break up the colors the best on the gun.

Cool, I was hoping it was something I could find locally like a walmart. Like you said, it looks about the right size for a rifle.

Now that you've got that out of the way, just lay the rifle down and put a quick spray right across the side of it.  You can't go back after that, and it's the easiest way that I've found to get over that initial "I can't!" hurdle.

Total paint time was maybe 10 mins. Only real time spent was waiting on it to dry I want it to wear through so rattle can is a perfect choice for me.

Hey all, first post, long time reader. I plan on doing my new AR over the weekend doing the pine straw/fishnet combo. But here is what I did before the deer hunt this year, talk about a project! Hope some minds are blown... haha.

Old AR that I had to sell, I still hate myself for it.

New virgin AR, ready for the rusto

edit: why do my pics show up in a preview but as a link on the forum?

It's a new-ish anti-spam thing that the owners are using that requires 3 (i think) paid team members to approve any picture links for <50 post count people.

They show up just fine for team members, and as soon as 3 click on the approve button, they show up as pics for everyone else as well.

Well I finally did it.  I just used Rustoleum khaki and brown.  I kind of want to try some of the Aerovo varieties.  Time to buy a new AR and make it my precision model!

Looks good!

Would like some feedback on my  next camo job.  Stick with Grey and Black as shown on the rifle, or add some earth brown and olive drab like on the P-mag?   Going for a late fall camo scheme, which in my woods is more greys and browns.  Goal of any camo is not so much to match as much as breaking up the outline.

What kind of paint?  The rattle can stuff that I have used is usually dry to the touch in about 15 -20 minutes and is fully cured in 24 hrs.

Rustoleum camo.  Its technically dry, I don't leave fingerprints in it but my skin still sticks to it a bit on my rail.  Its slightly tacky.

I did my first coat on Friday and that stuff was dry in 24 hours but then I wanted to add a bit more brown so I did on Saturday.  Its been 24 hours since then and my rail is a little sticky.

Other places that I touched up yesterday are dry like they should be.

I wonder if I should stick it in the oven at like 200 degrees for a bit.  Bake it on?

Since it's more or less fall the 14.5 got a new paint job.

Normal finslayer83 pattern but with OD as opposed to light woodland green.

Krylon: khaki, OD, brown
