There was a company about 10 years ago that had a "coyote ugly" camouflage that was awesome, but I can't recall the name of the company. It had no real pattern, but worked well.  Think Willy Wonka on acid with 3 or 4 different colors and all the time in the world to create something.

Used the pine straw method with krylon camo fusion tech paint, I wasn't sure how it'd turnout in person but it worked well and looks great.

Nice job. But, your front sight is backwards

Thanks.

Yeah, I realized that after I posted the pics in another thread. I kept thinking to myself, "man something looks off" and then it hit me.

I'm already in the process of stripping this paint job off and getting ready to do another scheme. I might try to incorporate some sponge action into this next paint job, pictures will follow.

I like that color scheme, and it was more what i was going for. What colors did you use?

I originally painted my AR with the pine needle method, then I decided to switch it up and combine it with more dark colors and use the sponge method with it. I am pretty pleased with the outcome, it looks even better in person and outside.

Base coat of Rustoleum Khaki:

Adding in the Krylon Camo Brown & Green:

Added in Black and Khaki sponge patterns, I went light on both:

Clear coated with Rustoleum Matte Clear Coat:

Painting an AR is as fun as building them, in my opinion.

Sorry I didn't see this before now...I'll have to check and get back to you with the colors.  It's all Aervoe.

ETA:
Sand (base color)
Earth brown
Field drab
Forest green
Olive drab (very light mist over everything)

Thanks. That was my first go around with a camo job on a rifle. I used all the surrounding vegetation as my spray patterns.

Here's an upper I threw together then got bored and hit with some krylon. I'm kinda digging the way it turned out. Comments and critiques are welcome.

Rifle is pine straw with a primer gray base coat.

The Pmag is a stripe pattern with a bunch of splotches.
