Been told from Jaimie our next large order many have been waiting on will be here next week.  WELL worth the wait.  Small company with a great helmet.

I'm sitting at 6+ months since I ordered with them and I keep getting excuses...

I may have to try something else.

Same... I get it, they are bad at manufacturing goods; I'd like to get order ETA's at least.  I don't think I could recommend anyone order from them; maybe buy from a stocking dealer if anyone has anything in stock.

You all realize ordering ballistic and carbon helmets from Ops Core and also some helmets from Crye can also be 8 months to a year? MTEK is a small and VERY growing company. As stated, give our Jaimie an email and see what we have in stock after our next delivery.

Please don't take my post as negativity. I understand having to wait and some of the difficulties MTEK has ran into. I am glad that they are making sure the end product is not being rushed out.  This last year has been my first intro into nv.  I bought a lot of cool stuff from your company and am itching to get out and run it with the helmet.

I actually had a awesome tour of their facility when I ordered mine. Having the benefit of living close by I stopped in and was treated to a one on one with the owner. He is a good dude. I believe in them. I know I bought one of the best products out there. It's why I have been patiently waiting, despite the delays.

A little OT here, but it makes me wonder if the helmet companies (Ops-Core, Crye, Mtek, etc) should adopt lean manufacturing methods, also known as the Toyota Production System to improve their output and reduce delays. I don't know exactly what their mfg processes are but it could help.

Same here. I lost track of the months. I keep calling, and I keep getting "There's been a delay with the thingamabobs, but it should be ready in a few weeks." Then I  call back in a few weeks, and they say it'll be another few weeks....

Which they have...It's not about the methods (they've been at this a looong time), but the absolute HUGE demand from the Military. It's as simple as that. Current production from Mil contracts are huge and growing exponentially and not just from the US military.

I think they also dont want to get into the situation where you build up a huge staff and invest a ton of money in new facitilites and expensive equipment when a drawdown is on the table.  Look at silencerco or AAC - cant remember which one had to downsize a bunch recently.

+1

I have personally watched implementation of SAP hamstring a company - an absurd implementation of 5S+1 then crippled it, leaving it vulnerable for a coup de gras from Six Sigma implementation.

LEAN techniques, Just in Time Ordering, etc. can have their place, but faulty implementation of them can usher death.

Most of the "advanced" manufacturing philosophies that are regarded as Japanese are actually American. American efficiency experts exported their ideas to Japan. The Japanese worked open-mindedly with these experts and molded the methodologies to fit Japanese culture. Today, those same methodologies - molded to the Japanese culture - are being imported into the US and ignorant, stupid, closed-minded executives are inflexibly forcing the Japan-tailored methodologies onto the manufacturing production floor without accepting any feedback from the affected employees.

I have heard an executive say this: "When you hear them (the production employees) screaming then you know it's working." No kidding, I heard one of them say that and that truly was their philosophy. The reality is that these philosophies were originally intended to have input from everyone, including the low-level production employees.

Back on topic: +1 for what TNVC said but I would like to add: In my limited experience in dealing with resins and fibers, you have massive amounts of defects every time you re-start a production line so you want to keep the momentum. You don't want to stop halfway to meeting a production segment goal so you can re-start the line for another product segment even if both product segments are already behind schedule. It hurts both segments and generates a higher PPM defect rate. This concept could easily be applied to the smallest of changes - like changing the shell size for the exact same model of helmet. None of this really helps those of you that are waiting but you do need to understand that high quality protective gear is difficult and time consuming to build.

Are there any plans to add any kind of inventory tie-in to your website in the near future?

Because that'd be awesome. Even if the pages showed lead-time before ordering, that'd be cool too.

Hey guys, I'm a newb to this kind of stuff! I'm looking at purchasing the MTEK FLUX Ballistic but I have a few questions.

What kind of padding/ suspension system is inside the MTEK? Do you plan to keep that or upgrade? If so, what to?

Recently a friend told me to hold off on the MTEK because it isn't "proven" and to instead get a Team Wendy Exfil Ballistic... Of the two, which helmet do you recommend and why?

OPSCORE or MTEK.  I have no experience with the MTEK yet, but I have heard good things about them to those that have fielded them.

Go for a TW only if you support the other side..... (I sold mine as fast as I could)

Nothing wrong with the proven quality and comfort of the Team Wendy. You'll run into a lot of flack for them around these parts though due to their company's support for Hillary back during the election. I think it just opens the door to some great pricing on a super helmet from dudes offloading them. Definitely looking forward to hearing some more firsthand experiences and test results from the MTEKs once more people get them in their hands.

Anyone received theirs yet? Still patiently waiting for mine from TNVC. Hopefully soon! Anyone have any updates?

BTW, I saw a video of the black multicam on YouTube from shotshow and it looks amazing. From the post above it looks like the black multicam is in stock but I'd be apprehensive to switch my order from multicam to black multicam without being able to see a picture of this pattern (not found on any websites or searches) but it certainly looks sexy on the shotshow video! Even sexier if I could actually get my hands on it as opposed to the mythical flux ballistic I have on order lol

Lean mFG is what causes these delays. Having some fat on hand keeps things well lubed.

One parts supplier drops the ball and production comes to a stop. The JIT, lean six sigma is crap as well.
Everyone has someone else to blame. I have a concept suspend a upper manager for 30 days if production continues without them, now you just make it permanent. A lot of titles are just that as the lower positions are what " rows the boat" so to speak. This will achieve a lean work place

Good ole inventory on hand keeps promises on time.

MTEK FLUX carbon -v

How is the fit?

Any adjustments for the helmet to stay in place without the chin straps?

just got mine today.  After making some adjustments with the pads, I'm really impressed with it.  Very stable with out the strap buckled down.  Light weight with really great airflow.  I wore it outside doing some work in my yard after work this afternoon (much to the the  of my wife).  It stays put and handles sweat well.  Stock pads are really comfy.  Don't think I will swap them for some of the zero G 4D pads (and I love those pads).  The way the helmet wraps around the base of the skull makes it very stable.  It feels cut higher around the ear area than my ops core so I'd imagine mounting ear pro isn't too bad.

I took some shots of the helmet and counterweight.
