Just called for the first time and it's still "Pending". Was really hoping to have it by the 4th for our traditional family blasting session.

My first can so the wait is painful...

Did a search for this, but didn't come up with anything.  What information do you need to call in to the ATF to check on the status of a tax stamp?

Call don't push any buttons, wait for someone to answer ask to check forms status. They will ask serial number, your name (trust name) and dealers name. Then pray they say approved.

The guy I got on the phone the one and only time I called for all my NFA items seemed a bit down in the dumps.  He literally only said "serial number?", "who is it being transferred to?", and "dealer?". Then told me the pending date.  Very efficient.  Now if they could get processing times that quick.

I called today and got both good and strange news!

The good news:

Octane 45HD
Pending 3/12
Approved 7/5

Spectre II
Pending 3/12
Approved 7/5

Now the strange news:

Axiom
Pending 3/12 Verified this date twice over the last 2 weeks!
Pending 4/27 As told by ATF today?

Not sure how that works?  Anyone else having their pending date get changed during processing?  Either way I am still thrilled to be getting two cans, as I still have four more in jail!

I thought they quit that 'pending' nonsense, and telling people on the phone if their item was 'pending'.

Just go home and wait quietly.  It doesn't matter what they say on the phone, it will arrive when it arrives.

Form 1 individuals look like they are getting approved faster that most other methods these days.

Mine was 86 days from forms sent to approved, and 83 days from check cashed to approved.

Looking at the NFA tracker trend graph it appears individual transfer times are trending way down while trusts and corps are leveling off after a steady trend up over the past few months.

My suppressor got caught in the perfect storm. I got in on the long Form 3 waits and just as my suppressor made it to my dealer they pulled people off of processing Form 4's to clear up the Form 3 backlogs.

Oh well waiting is part of the game and patience has always been a virtue of mine.

Yep.

Mine was sent 4/16 and approved 7/4. Under 90 days for approval. If the stamp gets here before the 16th, it'll be 90 days or less door to door. Some guys I work with are pissed as they waited up to and over 9 months last year and year before.

If it makes any of you feel better, I actually had a Saker days from clearing Form 4 and cancelled it to order an Omega... so I "bought" my latest can in January of 2014 and won't have it for a few months yet... the wife didn't go for the "get both" method.

The nice thing about this is that since I paid for it so long ago it will feel like it was free once I finally get it!

I'm pending April 24th on a Trust Paper Form 4.

Don't understand this at all. Trusts should be faster as you are not waiting on fingerprints from the FBI. At the very least, they should be the same timeframe. Instead, they are taking longer?  Punishment? Different stacks on a desk?

Well the reality is comparing prints really doesn't take that long. Maybe they had a stack of individuals they wanted to clear out before starting on all the trusts submitted out of fear of changes in how it's done?

They shift examiners to slower forms evey once in a while.  They did this with form 3's back in June.  They had been taking 3 months and all of a sudden started coming back under a month.  This is probably what is happening with individual forms.

I'd like to see the postmarked date. We all know it's not taking 3 weeks once it's mailed. More like, it's not getting mailed for 3 weeks or the SOT is sitting on it.

My dealer just called and has my stamp. The next hurdle is the stupid NICS check. I get delayed 100% of the time. Never denied, just always delayed.

The end is near!

ETA: I have it in my posession. I think this is the first instant Proceed I've ever recieved from NICS! Now to make room in the schedule for some range time!
