Had a local dealer post this earlier in the week:
SO got bunch a whole stack of stamps, all were dated late May up to June 17th. Approved Mid March 2017. Sources tell me wait time will jump in the next week or so to 12 months and maybe to 18 months. They have close to 400k forms sitting in the queue waiting to be processed that all hit right before 41F. We'll see... |

I wouldn't be surprised if that "local dealer" was spot on about his expectations. There was an enormous amount of discussion about the new rules, and several forums I visit were extremely busy with people asking for last-minute instruction and advice on Form 1 submissions.
I firmly believe that NFA Tracker badly underreports the actual number of submissions because the NFA "community" has become so much bigger so quickly that most submissions don't get entered. I also believe that this keeps NFA Tracker from accurately reporting times, (although I think it'll be in the right ballpark) because of what I expect to be an insane number of submissions just before or at the deadline - a very large portion of which would not be entered in NFA Tracker. And honestly, I haven't ever even created an account there, so my own submissions and stamps aren't part of the mix. Whatever the actual situation winds up being, we'll definitely see slower approval times as the NFA Branch gets to later and later submissions, just because of the volume. What I wonder about now is how slow NEW submissions are going to be...whether it's even worth starting the process at the moment, or maybe waiting until next year (and saving my money) to buy a commercial can. |

View Quote That's 43,400 control numbers for efiled Form 1s over the 23 day period. ATF may have a $hitload of paper Form 4s as well that probably accounts for the number quoted by your dealer (the Silencer Shop truckload of paper), but I'm pretty certain that efiled Form 1s are at the level which I've described above. FYI, right now, ATF is banging through about 680 of those Form 1 apps per day, so check your control number and calculate out from the July 2nd approval of control number 3180xx to see when your stamp will pop up. For me, assuming no changes to current daily production by ATF, it's 64 days from when sh1fty's got approved on March 24th (calculates out to May 27th for mine). |

I'm still waiting on two Form 1's from 06/30/16 and 07/02/16. Looks like I need to call tomorrow and see whats going on. Both were eforms.
Update: Just received the approval on my 7/2/16 Form 1. Still nothing on the 6/30/16 Form 1, looks like I need to check with the ATF tomorrow on it. |

He's not "my dealer"...I've never bought a thing from him 2. F1s are not the only forms in eForms 3. eFiled F1s have very little to do with paper F4s (which is what he was receiving) 4. The dealer wasn't trying to understand any of the process...he was simply passing along info the ATF gave him This is not the eForms tracking thread...so don't get hung up on control numbers. |

Anyone know on average how long it takes to get a certified copy of stamp from ATF? Had to request one and just curious if anyone has had experience with this.
