I remember back in the seventies that my dad used corn meal (wettened with I dunno what) for his revolver cylinders.

You can go to a fabric store and buy wool felt by the yard and get a leather punch in the appropriate size to match your caliber and then punch out the wads. Then you soak them in melted bore butter or one of your favorite lube recipes. Much more cost effective.

I have used these Link
Vegetable fiber disk to seal under the ball Second thing I did was to bevel the edges cylinder bores and polish the edges so it rolls the edge seal on the ball instead of a clean cut of slightly over size balls And I run things dry in my ruger old army and have never had a problem with Chain fire or leading I did upgrade the nipples to the bronze after market ones |
