Kenneth Clarke interviews gunsmiths and collectors regarding the resurgence of interest in the Kentucky Long Rifle. Digitized from two inch quad video tape through a 2014-2015 internal  Western Kentucky University (WKU) Libraries grant. Originally produced in 1971.

The gunmaker at the end of the video is the iconic Hershel House. Kinda funny that Dr. Clarke refers to him as “Herman” and the credits list him as “Carman”. I'd say Mr. House is a little more known in the flintlock rifle circles now. He is a true American treasure.

I had the chance to handle a HH rifle at a rendezvous.
Incredible work of art, the culmination of a true riflemaker's artistry.

House rifles are just that...Art.

I am lucky to live a county away from the House family, have camped and shot with them many times. Good people.
