Which "one"?

Yeah, details man...did you find some 17th century guns or are those CVA kits from the 80's?

Ok looks like pbucket might cooperate now.

Had a guy call about a month ago, said he had some old Muzzleloaders he wanted gone, and had heard I was in to that sort of thing. Finally got hooked up with him and after a few visits and selling a couple of modern guns, I bought them. He used to do the Rendesvouz thing, both Mountain Man and Arrow Rock, Mo. Militia/Sante Fe Trail period, back in the late 70's and early 80's. These guns have been in the attic of his shop since then.

The top gun is the only original, an old broken, beat up ml shotgun.

Next one down is a Dixie Gun Works Kentucky in .45.  His kids used this gun, and it shows. Well used but likely is a shooter!

The pistol on the right, above is the only other "production" gun. A CVA Pioneer cap lock in .32 cal. His kids also used this one, as will mine!!!

Next pic starts the good stuff, IMO. The flintlock pistol on the left, above was made by a Mr. Al Comer in the early 80's. Mr. Comer is still building guns just south of Versailles, Mo. I've visited with him twice and hope to meet with him soon.

This Flinter pistol is in .45 and feels good in the hand!!

Next gun down is a Trade Gun. No makers mark visible, and haven't taken the barrel off to look there.  It is a 20 bore and seems to be quite period correct. This one will get used, for sure!!!

Then the centerpiece of the lot is this 20 ga. smoothbore made by Mr. Comer. The guy paid $600 in 1983 for this one.

And the last piece is a Bowie and sheath made by Mr. Comer.

Then, there were 3 haversacks and 4 leather shooting bags with some accoutrements. The haversacks are stenciled with a copy of an original from the 1st Reg't, A Company, of the Arrow Rock Militia. This militia was formed in the 1830's, when folks started settling in the Boone's Lick area and Arrow Rock area. There were still Osage Indians in the area, as well as Ruffians that needed squared away, I suppose!!

I like homemade stuff...

Antler powder measure.

And lastly, a letter written by Mr. Comer, describing the Fowler and load recommendations!  No, not original 1700-1800's guns, but as close to a real "barn find" as I'll likely ever get!!

Oh, and Mr. Comer believes that that Fowler has appreciated in value by several hundred dollars!!!
