Here's a couple of horns I won from this years muzzle loader shoots, thought I'd share.
Sorry for my crappy picture taking skills

This little priming horn was second place prize at a shoot in August, I forget the guys name who made it. "Liberty" & "Justice" whats scrimshawed around the compass.

This was on the back of it, which I thought was pretty neat.

A good buddy of mine is a horn maker and he donated this horn as a prize that I won for our club's shoot over Labor Day weekend (was only able to pick it up last week).
All I need is a strap and it will be ready for flintlock season!

This was on the back of it, which I thought was pretty neat. The design is referred to as the "Allentown Indian" or "Lady Liberty" among other things depending on which theory you like or who you ask.  It appears on several golden age long rifles from that area.

Good looking horn.  Is that gold paint on the compass?

I never made a flat horn and must finish an article on two flat horns I've found here in So CO.

The process of coloring powder horn scrimshaw would be "Polychrome". Most likely Spark used different colored india ink on the primer horn pictured.

Thanks for the info on the priming horn, pretty interesting.

I'm pretty sure that's (in red above) what he used for the different colors.

Thanks BlackyMcRiflee.  I've been out of the big city so long, I haven't seen an old fashion stationary store that had different colors of India ink.
