So going through some of my grandfather's things, we happened upon this old muzzleloader.  It is not in shootable condition, nor do I think it could ever be given some of the damage.

However, I would like to get a better idea of what it is/was and it's origins.  There are a few rollmarks, but my searching has come up with nothing.

The best I can figure, it is a Hawken Style .50 of some sort.

There looks to be a manufacturer roll mark ending with "ER" in a banner/scroll on the trigger assembly

On the barrel, there is an "R W M" roll mark which searching has indicated could be indicative of a Government/Military Inspection marking, however all the examples I found on the web were accompanied by an anchor...none here to be found.

Not much to go with on markings, but I figured there is enough that someone who actually knows what they are looking at could assist in identifying. Thanks for any assistance with this endeavor!

Vincent Ohio Plains style.  Here is some family info,  BTW, lock could have been produced by Goulcher.

Post 1830 cap rifle with barrel rib, poured pewter nosecap, no patchbox or grease hole.  Plain, simple working man's rifle. I hope you found the hunting bag and accessories to go with it.  Keep them together.

Thanks to you both for your input!

Unfortunately no accessories, just the rifle/rod.

The lock/trigger is definitely G Goulcher, great tip!

Just trying to figure out what barrel maker the R W M marking belongs to as it is the only other identifiable marking on the rifle.
