I have been wanting a Mosin for a little while and came across a M27 (looks to be a 1934). Seems to be in decent shape, but I am no expert on milsurp rifles. Based on these pictures, what would be a fair price? Asking price is $475, I want to make an offer, but dont want to lowball and drive away seller, but also dont want to be taken for a ride.

I'm no expert but you may want to check these M39s out unless you're stuck on a M27.  I believe the M27s do sell for a bit more so that one is probably priced about right.

I like the look of the straight stock over the pistolgrip of the m39.

Early 30's are the most common and sell for the least. It looks in nice shape and if the finish is original then I would say $400 is top of the mark for it, if it had a winged bolt then maybe a bit more.  Some of the harder to find years go for $600 and the rare years and VKTs go for even more. I recently bid on one and stopped at $750 where I was still outbid.

The M27 is my favorite Finnish  Mosin.  475$ is the most I've ever paid for one but it came wearing a 3 piece M27 sling that's worth 150$ by itself. Rifle looks complete and in good shape and 1934 is one of the most common years, I'd be more comfortable paying 400$ or so for it but if the seller won't budge I'd buy it anyway. It will be worth 475$ someday, probably sooner than we think considering how fast prices are rising.

Agree with SGT_Lord.

I do not see many M27s around here. I'd try to get it for $400, but I'd consider going full price, if he won't budge.

Seeing how fast the prices on the M28/30 went into the stratosphere, I'm glad I got one when I did (and for a "reasonable" price) The M27 will jump up too, and probably sooner than later. At some point, $475 will look like a deal.
