My Grandfather Served in 1943, wounded and sent home, so yea 1943 was important for me.

Plus it was Mid-War year, the "hump year" so to speak so I thought it would be a point to center a collection around.

Hope it inspires some other folks to post similar collection photos.

Not only are the guns great, they are posed attractively and the 1911 even seems to have correct-year vitage ammo to go with it!  Q:  are those the steel case 45 ACP rounds?  Anyone know if the plating was indeed Cadmium?

As for the Q. above about a G43, well not all of us are made of money.  I think OP's done a fine job myself.

Thanks,

Yes the .45 ammo is the steel cased and is from 1943, no intention of trying to shoot it, since it's age it may not work.

The Mauser 8mm ammo is also from the same factory as the Rifle. AM is Gustloff-Werke code

The Garand and Carbine are also sporting 1943 head stamped ammo.  oh and the Lucky strike pack is from WWII K Rations

I would love to have a Springfield Garand from 43. the last order I sent to CMP, I got a very nice March 1945, nice thing about it was that it had the original barrel

Also has correct trigger group and WWII Lockbar sight, unfortunately the Op Rod and Stock are not correct. it's a 3.5 Million

I gave it to My Son for his Birthday... He Loves it.

3-45 SA Barrel

Beautiful guns!!!

I'll be ordering a Garand from the CMP soon! Either a Springfield or possibly an IHC Service Grade.

Would also like a K98 and M1 Carbine eventually... but quick question on the K98s... why do some have the steel buttstock and others like yours don't?
