hell, they are under a month lately.

You would shit yourself last few years when 6 months would go by without any word.

Eventually you will get the DBU.

Then you see movement in the eStore.

Patience grasshopper.

Just got a beautiful service grade. About a month. 3 or so weeks to the DBU, then at my door just a few days later.

I was in the same boat a couple weeks ago with my first CMP order.  The not knowing sucks.  Here is how my wait was:
Mailed order on 1/31
Received order on 2/4
Email sent to me on 2/19
Rifle at my door on 2/24

Both are WW2-era.  Springfield and Winchester used similar serial number ranges during WW2, but I believe the CMP is only shipping HRA and SA Garands right now, so I assume they're Springfields.  Based on that, the first rifle dates to September 1943, and the second one dates to June 1944.

Your 2nd rifle could have been born on D-day.

Dang, lucky guy.

I got one, dad got one and a good friend got one.  All are 4.8 Mill plus, so post-WW2

I never did get an email/shipping notice.  FedEx just called saying the next day they would need a signature and they showed up.

Will update and add pics soon. Supposed to be here today but was delayed in Memphis, TN due to weather. No clue when it will get here or even where it is right now.

I'll never understand why people leave their feet in pics. It's a common thing on every forum I'm on whether its cars or guns.

Hahahaha I was too excited to pay enough attention to keep them out of the pics.

Crop those fotos.

Nice rifles.

The CMP is a wonderful thing ain't it.

I wished I started ordering from them YEARS AGO.

Looking forward to break down.

You should be very pleasd. A friend got one recently and it was a black Greek return with a fat yellow 2x4 stock.  I would have been Pissed if they sent that one to me.
I'm tempted to add sticky notes to any future orders begging NOT to send me any black receiver or parts.

Parking is damn near perfect on all metal pieces except for spots of dried lube, which will clean off. I swear the metal looks new. Stock also has orange bedding compound on the bottom of the mag well where the bottom metal slots in. Makes disassembling difficult cause it is tight as a tick. Again post with any parts I should be checking for numbers or types, but haven't already.

That double rebuild 2.9M rifle is sweet. I'd love to get one like mail order. The last time I mail ordered one I got that looked like one of the CMP specials. New stock , new GI barrel and new park. Not my thing, I was hoping for something more like yours.

I will likely be putting that one up for sale. Was going to keep both but then I sent in an order for an IHC when I got the email, so one of them is going on the block to fund the IHC.
