Colt 1903 Hammerless made in 1941.  Don't know any of its war history (if it has any) It does have a British proof mark on the frame, but my dad's dad carried it for a LONG time. I've only seen it once or twice before he passed away. Surprised me with it. Cannot wait to give it a good field strip and go shoot it.

British proof marks are Broadhead over crown over H2 over M(looks like M)

beatiful. Field strip can be a PITA due to the locking lugged barrel. Lets just say.. it wouldn't never pass the current colt lawyer safety requirements now.

Oh man! That is a very nice one. Take care of it, take it out every once in a while to shoot and pass it on to your kids.
