Seems like a decent deal if you want a 1911-style single stack 9mm if their shipping and your transfer cost are not out of line. My B Super shoots great.

P-83s for $200.00 too.

I've been tempted by these for a while but since magazines and spare parts can be hard to find I've held off.

For just a bit more ($300 after MIR) you can get a single stack 9mm 1911 that uses a lot of mil-spec parts.

Had a buddy that had a Star. He picked up for $150. Probably the best gun deal I've ever seen. It wasn't Tier 1 obviously , but it was a great little pistol. Went bang every time.

Just passing it along for those with a interest.

I'm sure the RIA 9mm is just fine (I own a ARMCOR made M1911A1 myself) but from what I admire in a "older gun" (fit & finish) it just can't compare.

Simply stated the older weapons are not for those who are not willing to deal with scarce parts availability and the other "warts" they may run into.

Mags are available though.

Also, 9mm M1911s are blasphemy and cause the vengeful spirit of JMB to haunt your house.

Star Model B's offer no risk of supernatural peril at the hands of spectral Mormons.

I would get both the Star and the Philippine 1911!  Both are reported to be good pistols, and a steel framed 1911 style pistol in 9mm has got to be great to shoot.
