Where would you expect to see ordinary Model 91's priced, assuming decent bore and overall condition.  Not Finn or other rare birds.  Not so many Mosins are showing up at gun shows.

I'd expect them to START around $200 and range up to $300 and beyond, depending on how rare an example you're looking at.

$200 or below is an auto-buy, for me.

This is assuming you're talking about standard Russian M1891s and not M1891/30s.

$200 and up. How far it goes up is depending on what it is and its condition and originality. There is a rare Finn m91 that will sell for over $12K on GB tonight.

There are basically Balkans, Finn and a few SCW m91's The heavily scrubbed Balkans fetch the least.

Interesting.  I haven't followed the C&R's much in a while and everything is up quite a bit since I was paying attention.  Thanks.

I got on a M91 kick a few years ago. I have paid from $75 to $375 for them over the years. Like the others have said $200 is a good price these days.

Are we all talking about M91s or M91/30s because there is a huge difference.

Same here, my m28/30 was sold as a m91/30 and was priced accordingly. This is why I don't educate the sellers.

I have noticed what I talk about M91s a lot of gun people assume I am talking about m91/30s, they have no idea what a m91 is.

I picked up a N.E.W. M91 for $150 that was marked as an Enfield Mauser.

I passed on a "Finn Capture" that the guy said was such because of the laser engraved importer markings found on newly imported mosins.
He also swore a Spanish Mauser passed headspace check and it closed on a field guage. He got mad at me and yelled "Bullshit!" like I was at fault for his gun. Sad

Yep - that SAT Fin ended at $12,500

I would love to find one of those kicking around for $150 bucks at a gun shop.

Heck, I bought a M28 at a local show, that was being sold as an "old Russian rifle" (and it was priced accordingly). Two other guys at the show knew what it was and one congratulated me for knowing the difference. They were happy to sell it and I was happy to buy it, so I figured it all worked out fine for everyone.

Why educate them and muddy the waters?

With the age of the internet.. if one is too lazy to find out what one has - why should i educate a dealer at a show? Thats their job.

m91s are my favorite btw

I picked up an old Russian rifle for $40 the other year. The only reason the seller knew it was Russian was because it was stamped Made in USSR on the receiver. That was a score for me and was only a 15 minute drive to get it.

What is that? I saw one at cabelas a while back.
The weird thing is that the "made in" is in English.

Spanish Civil War rifle.

The "Made in USSR" is an import mark.
