Personal choice but I would forgo the threaded barrel if Appleseed is your goal.  I would add NDS sights and drill your stock and add a QD sling stud.  Upgrade the trigger and add the auto bolt release.

Most threaded barrels are shorter, 16-inch barrels as otherwise when you add the suppressor they are silly long.  For Appleseed, you will want the longer factory barrel to get the longer sight radius.  You will get on target better and then Natural Point of Aim takes over once you learn what you are doing.  A factory barrel is all you need.

If you really want a threaded barrel, then buy what you want as any decent barrel will be accurate enough for Appleseed.  Just need a better than 2MOA gun and most factory barrels are at least MOA.

Good point about the sling, if you do Appleseed get both a 1913 military sling as well as a M1 web sling.  I shoot better with the leather sling BUT if you don't buy and use a shooting jacket the leather sling will leave bruises around your bicept - assuming you are slinging up right.  The web sling isn't as solid but also bites less.

I need to dig my Appleseed gun out of the safe as I don't have any photos of it.  Here is me in my coat when I earned my patch.  I have shot rifleman twice more at other events after eating my patch.  My 10/22 can really shoot if I point it the right way



Oh yea, this was at a 50-ft reduced shoot.  That target is tiny!
