I just picked a Buckmark rifle up from my LGS, it was ordered for me so I couldn't pick one out. For whatever reason the new ones ship with a 1/2" rubber buttpad. This is the sporter model. I cant stand the way the pad sticks to your clothing when you shoulder it.  I see Midway sells plastic buttplates, is this a direct swap? The stock is pretty plain with little grain in the wood.

When it comes to butt plates on wood there are very few "direct replacements" as there is always some slight variation.

Not a great fit on the on that's on there. Not sure why they would switch to rubber

You were very right. The plastic replacement doesn't even come close to fitting. Hell, the closer I looked at the rubber pad that's on it, it doesn't fit right either. I still cant fathom why they switched to a large rubber pad on a .22. This is the sporter model.
