At least around me... <$30/500 is what I use for my BiN price. I might get a couple boxes if it's more than that, but will only buy more if it's under that. I've passed up a lot of overpriced .22 in the past few months.

2.50 a box is fair. In my area I have only found 22 on the shelf three times since 2012 and each time it was more expensive than that ( am not even counting the scalper shop that put out Remington crap at 6 plus bucks a box)

Got an email from Brownell's that said they had no limit quantities of CI plated 40 grain HV 500 rd bricks for only $60/brick. I passed on that price, still too rich for me, especially for a brand I have never heard of made in Mexico. The upside is that there does finally seem to be some movement is .22 rimfire availability.

I've recently purchased 4 Remington Golden Bullet 525 round boxes for $24.99 each as well as 2 American Eagle 38gr copper plated HP 400 round bricks for $23.99 each. All on the shelf at Cabelas.
Up until about 3 weeks ago I haven't seen any reasonably priced 22 on a shelf in 2 or 3 years. |

Tax is very high here
 like 8.25%
The price is $2.29, which if you don't count tax is 4.6 cents a round. |

I would be game to try it at 40-45 a brick. 60, I'll pass. My stockpile is 95% CCI so I'm definately a fan off theirs.

I just bought 500 rounds of CCI at the grand opening of the new Bass Pro Shop in Tacoma for about 8 cents a round. That's the first time I've purchased 22LR since a year before Sandyhook. The last purchase was a nickel a round for American Eagle.

CCI was started in Lewiston, Idaho in the 50's as Cascade Cartridge, Inc. The Mexican CCI has currently no relation what so ever with the US CCI.

5 cents per round is a good price these days. I've been buying Mini Mags for 8 cents, but I probably shoot less than 500 rounds of .22lr a year. I haven't tried the Federal Champions, but I am having big problems with the brick of Winchester Super x 36gr HP that I bought in September. You know, the one Cabela's sells in the wooden boxes.

Bass Pro in Sevierville, TN had the Federal 40-Grain 50 count solids for $2.39 limit three this weekend. They had several dozen boxes when I purchased mine. They also had the CCI Swamp People CCI 300 count for $24.99. Federal's were a better deal. My wife and daughter also bought three boxes each!

I just looked through that ammoseek.com engine and the price for any available CCI minimag .22 LR is still pretty stupid.
I don't see the prices and availability coming back to normal at all yet. And, yes, I suspect that many members of this board are sitting on 100.000-round hoards of .22 LR ammo. So I guess we are part of the problem too. Shame on us. |
