Im thinking about SBRing an old 10/22 I have collecting dust, but Im having trouble finding a threaded bull barrel available for sale. My plan for now is buy a nice aftermarket barrel and send to ADCO to thread, but if I can find an off the shelf option, that would be even better.

Pretty certain Kidd will cut and thread to any length desired, just call. Good luck.

I purchased the Kidd 6" barrel and shipped it to Jim Pixley. Jim cut it to 4.5" with the Sparrow O ring cut.

A note on Kidd barrels that I have seen. I have requested them cut barrels before and they declined. I requested the SilencerCo O ring engagement thread and was told they could do it after I sent them the info from SilencerCos  site. That barrel came in with the standard .400 length thread. When I called them abut it I was told it would work fine that way. I have basically given up on any custom work by Kidd.

Tactical Innovations offers a 5.5" threaded barrel and a 4.5" threaded barrel. I have used the 5.5" barrel on my SBR and its a very accurate barrel for only $100

They said no to me when I asked them this.  ETA I see I'm not the only one.  6" barrels suck because most bulk packs go supersonic.

Ended up going with Tactical Innovations.  The fluting keeps my poly receiver cool and best of all Federal bulk packs are subsonic.  Sounds like a pneumatic nailer

I found a guy in eBay who cut a custom 5" barrel  for me .

ETA bulk pack is still supersonic though

What am I missing at 4.5" why not supress a 22LR pistol?

Seems like the accuracy would be the same generally speaking. Am I missing something?

A rifle at 4.5" will be inherently more accurate than a pistol at the same length or any length for that matter because you can shoulder it .

Shorter length affects velocity only, not accuracy. A short stiff barrel is typically more accurate than a long barrel.

I have a 5.5" barrel on my 10/22 and a 5.5" barrel inside a Savage MKii integral suppressed rifle I built, both are every bit as accurate as their 16" counterparts

Those look nice. But unless you do multiple mag dumps on full auto, your receiver isn't going to see anything close to significant heat. Most of the heat it does pick up comes from the gasses blowing back into the receiver during ejection.

I ran a 5.5" Lilja bull barrel for several years. More recently I went simple with a chopped factory barrel and iron sights. I was hitting a 12" plate at 100 yards without much difficulty.

Correct.  I have a norrell and a chopped green mountain bull barrel. The only thing to get hot is the suppressor.
