A bunch of guys in the NFA forum have done a lot of 10-22 SBR's. Lots of gun porn over there.

Thanks! Its a blast to shoot.

I milled out a section of the stock similar to the opening for the serial number.

I built this one in 2001. it originally had a 4-inch barrel, but I found that would not cycle without a can attached. I later went to a 5.5 inch barrel. This shot well and cycled with or without a can, but most high velocity ammo would go supersonic.

it's spent the last few years as a "no-barreled-rifle", since SBR's were not legal here. Now with the recent law change, I'm having a barrel cut back to 4.5 inches. I'm hoping that should cycle without a suppressor attached, but still keep high velocity ammo subsonic.

If you haven't done it yet, ramp the rear of the bolt. Should help with cycling.

Anyone use McGowen Precision 10/22 barrel 22 LR Bentz Chamber, 1-16" Twist, .920" Contour, 12" Long, Threaded 1/2" x 28?

Or can recommend another 12" 10/22 Threaded Bull Barrel?

Basically you smooth, round and slightly reshape the rear bottom of the bolt. Smooth's out the bolt travel and hammer reset. Makes the bolt cycle easier.

Anyone know of the least expensive place to buy a BRAND NEW 10/22 type reciver for a pistol build?  For a pistol build, is has to be brand new.

Or it could be a factory built 10/22 pistol like the Charger pistol.

I think a pistol with an arm brace would be cool.

I think nodak spud would be the least expensive ready to go bare receiver however you could maybe do one of the 80% 10/22 receivers out there for less.

The nodak receivers are good to go.  I have 3.

Thanks!

Thought about something like this without the $200, the wait, and the hassle:

The sigbrace + charger pistol fully complies with all laws/regs - at least around here.

Just a SBR 10/22 with a 4.5" barrel and a chopped up wood stock.  I shortened the stock and widened the channel so my HTA Kestrel 22 would fit inside it.

Here is the same gun in a much smaller package.

yeah, I did that as well.

I just had a barrel cut to 4.5". I'll have to see if it will run, probably get a chance later today.

ETA: it ran well with the 4.5" barrel, both suppressed and unsuppressed, supersonic and subsonic ammo.  Looking good so far.
