As a follow-up, I bought the light, and it looked unused.  No wonder; come to find out that half the lights on it did not work properly.

I set up a return on Streamlight's web site, and sent it off to them.  About a week or so later I got back a brand new light with a different serial number and made last month, that works perfectly.  No questions asked, no money spent except insured First-Class postage from me to them.  Good CS, if you ask me.

It's surplus stuff for a reason.  Might be not needed anymore, and/or replaced by something newer.  Might be defective turn-ins.  Obviously, the more complicated the item, the greater the chances that something might be wrong.

Aside from a pack I bought that had a small slit in the material (easily repaired), and this light, I've never bought anything from them that was not as-described.  IOW, everything else was GTG.

Now that Streamlight has replaced my defective light--for free-- all is well.  I like the light, although it needs the optional "H" snap-on webbing harness to interface properly to PALS webbing.  The OEM metal clip can slide off thin PALS webbing, I'm told.

Anyway, I'll continue to buy stuff from them, always keeping in mind that they don't take returns; they say so in their policies.
