Hey all,

Ive finally decided to join the masses in the "Battle Belt" revival.  I was wondering if y'all could recommend me a holster for a Sig P220.  I am currently leaning toward a Safariland 6004 drop leg, run as high as I can get it.  I am sure there are better options out there, just trying to see what the hive says.

Thanks,

KA

Consider a 6280 vs the 6004.

I use a 6004 and am happy with it. Look on ebay for  cheap ones. I use the  highest drop attachment.

Personally, if my sidearm is being open-carried, I'm more comfortable with a bit of retention. My go-to is the Safariland ALS system. Probably the best in the business in terms of speed and security.

6004 or gcode XST....... I own and have used both...Both are excellent!

Safariland ALS system with G-code wheel, and RTI universial mount.

I used to love the G–code Soc-C's and XST's until one of them tore right out of the mount during a draw right where the three screws attach the aluminum RTI mount to the holster itself. The three screws go directly into the plastic without any metal inserts like the safariland has.

G code was awesome with their warrantee, and had it back to me within a week fixed up just like brand-new. This was even during one of their busiest times! Unfortunately I can no longer trust these holsters even though I know it was probably just a freak coincidence.

I pretty much replaced everything with the Safariland ALS system. The safari land just feels way more rugged and sturdier to me.

I have a Safariland ALS on a drop and offset mount. I forget the model number though. I really dig the ALS system though.

ETA: Mine is the 6390

The safariland 6004 hood types are nice. Drop leg holsters that strap to your thigh will limit movement when it comes to long stepping, jumping, running, etc. The mid drop attachment is the best I've used. Check ebay for used holsters.

5.11 Thumbdrive by BladeTech. Drop & Offset if ya gotta, but once you mess around with it it'll probably be the last holster you buy.

Friends don't let friends wear thigh holsters. If you are set on safariland get a 6280 (SLS) or 6360 (SLS/ALS) or 6390 (ALS).

Mid-ride Safariland. SLS hood or ALS thumb button.
Interested to try that new 'universal' fit holder they just came out with.

Thank god we're finally done with the SERPA nonsense. (now that I've said it, the SERPA-tards will be coming out of the woodwork)

If they're raised up high enough they aren't that bad. They also help to anchor the warbelt.
