I'm looking for a rather specific set-up.

I want to hold 4 AK mags (well, VX58 mags), across my vest, without stacking. So either a 4x1 shingle or two 2x1's.

So far, all I've found are pre-built chest rigs, 3-mag pouches, stacked pouches, piggybacking pouches, and laughably expensive single-mag pouches.

I'm not too picky on retention (velcro, bungee, whatever). I just want to get this done without breaking the bank of rebuilding my entire setup (ie: breaking the bank even more).

Thanks.

Google: "Double AK Magazine pouch"

Plenty of doubles.

You say "without stacking", to which I assume you mean you don't want the AK mags to be stacked together, however do you require the ability to mount additional pouches on thee face of the mag pouches?  i.e. Do you require "shingle" type mag pouches?

No, no requirement to mount anything to the face of the pouch/shingle/whatever. The option wouldn't hurt, but there's no need.

Yeah, thanks, but I Googled, eBay'd, Amazon'd, etc. All I got from it was mag pouches for stacked mags (two pouches that hold two mags, each). Trying for a slimmer rig.

Appreciate it, but if THIS is what you're talking about, it's pretty much exactly what I said I do not want.

EDIT: Continued looking at SKD and found THIS, which might work pretty well... Seems a little shallow, but it's an option.

The HSGI Taco can do AK mags, but they are a bit pricey for single cell pouches.

Also found these US Palm double AK pouches, I have no experience with them but they're about the only purpose built AK shingle pouch I could find.

First Spear is having a molle pocket/pouch sale.

Either their single AK pouch: http://www.first-spear.com/product.php?productid=17762&cat=306&page=4

Or grab some of their double M4 pouches, and it should fit a single AK magazine comfortably: http://www.first-spear.com/product.php?productid=17535&cat=306&page=2
