I have given it thought, and have placed IR flags on all four sides of my body, to prevent the possibility of getting engaged by armed aircraft when SHTF.

I travel light. 3 primary mags, 3 secondary mags, and a tactical beard.

I don't even carry a primary. The mags are just for looks.

I have with me, the "Hammer of Thor", in the exclusive FDE color.

No, AK mags are -3. 40 round Pmags or Lancers are +3. Normal Pmags, or GIs with Magpul baseplates are +2.

Are all plates the same size?

Curious because of the 'perceived' size difference between something like the ITS Banshee and the SKD/Eagle.

No. There are multiple different sizes and styles of plates.

So, to continue the thread jack

How much coverage would be the minimum?

You have to turn, you have to sit, you've got a duty belt .... I'm guessing there is a balance.

Do some people run soft armor on the sides, instead of plates?  Just "to have something".

What do most people go for?

"I need to be able to reach ..... "

"I need to be able to do ..... "

I just picked up a LBT 6904 while they were on sale. I need to get some plates for it, but I don't know what kind to get. It's a large.

This is straight out of the package without being adjusted (tight as shit)

I just got my Bushido Tactical ITUS vest in today. I've been wearing it around with SAPIs in, so far so good. It feels solid and comfortable. The HALOs are pretty bad-ass. It does have a few things I would change though.

With all that space available on the left side of the carrier, why do you have the mag and med pouch on your strong side where it could interfere with drawing the pistol and/or manipulating the rifle?

If he's right handed / left eye dominant, like me, I can see the 'logic' of that setup as I've done a similar setup with a TT MAV.

eta: pistol righty / rifle lefty

I just test fit some stuff on it when it came in. I moved the med pouch back a ways. It doesn't really matter because I leave the pistol on the chest. Maybe its psychological, but it seems more balanced not have everything extra on my weak side you know?  I used these mag pouches because I had them laying around. The 3 mag pouch I intended on using doesn't fit as there are only 5 loops to attach on the vest where I need six.

I'm looking at other sets i can center a little better.

They're awesome. Worth every penny! Make sure to get the multi curve option and use the discount code if you buy some.

ETA: they run slightly small for some reason. If you have a good pc like an apc it shouldn't matter.

nothing major... it's only the beginning stages after i upgraded from a chest rig.

Lightweight Gunner PC from Condor.

soon to be running AR500 plates.
as of now, im not satisfied with it.  IMO, it sits too low on the chest at the smallest size (& i have a fairly long upper body @ 6'2" 155lbs.)
im going to see how it sits as soon as my plates arrive and are inserted.

i foresee an upgrade in the near future. im looking into the MOPC or the Banshee from TAG.

IMO they're heavy as shit but better than nothing for the price.

Yeah a tad heavy.  But a hell of a lot lighter than AR500 steel.  Got mine yesterday, so,far them seem pretty good.

How do you choose a Highcom plate?  The cut is easy enough to see.

What's the difference between single curve and multi-curve?

Multi curve is more comfortable IMO.

Make it easy on yourself and rule out single curve entirely. Multi-curve are leagues more comfortable.

My set up. Apologies for the picture. iPhone 4 and that's HD, lol just crappy.

Blackhawk carrier with an eagle cummerbund retrofitted. Was avoiding a war belt, but after adding plates I have to move some weight off of my shoulders so the cummerbund maybe going away. Six rifle and two pistol mags on the chest make for a heavy load, I have a lot more respect for you troops lugging this crap daily. Will move two rifle and two pistol mags to the belt along with the med kit when I get one.
