Anyone run a shellback patriot? Seems to be a smaller version of the banshee? I'm looking to put together a AS type rig that isn't overly large.
I'm 6'1, about 180...32" waist and ~41" chest of that helps. |

Hey, sorry it took a few days to get back to this to reply. Overall I like the placard. It's pretty low-profile. With 4 rifle, two pistol mags and the plates, I can go prone with no problems & can even get low enough to "monopod" on the magazine. I really like the small utility pouches on either side for a multitool and hand-held light. If I could custom tailor the design at all, I'd put the two pistol mag pouches on the left hand side (my left) to make them a little easier to get to. I'm probably going to replace the bungee-retention cords with Kywi or HS retention inserts. I'm still working out what to put into the two utility pouches on either side of the pistol mag pouches. I'd say all in all, I'm 95% pleased with it. |

Wife's car kit....
Goodwill found Blackhawk Plate Carrier that I fixed with an old Canvass 'Nam era H-Harness, Kel-Tec SU-16C, Pentagon LED Light on a US Cavalry bag I set up to be a active shooter bag. The plate is an ancient piece of steel rated for 7.62x39mm and 5.56x45mm. |

At 6-6 I don't know if you'd need taller ones. You might need to cut out some cardboard cutouts and look at some anatomy charts and see what you need. As for elastic cumberbuns. I'm a recent convert. I've been running 4-5 miles a couple times per week and the elastic allows me to have it tight enough not to bounce but it gives so I can breath. If they break down I'll replace them. They Velcro front and back and come off in 2 seconds. That being said, they are very heavy duty elastic and unless they are sitting in direct sunlight all day I feel pretty good about them lasting a long time. |

My first plate carrier, Mayflower APC L/XL. Got it off the EE here. Not sure how I feel about the lack of padding behind the plate pocket. If I don't like it after I get plates, I may go for a LBT 6094C. Side note, what's the physical size difference between the APC and the 6094C, not the plate pocket but the overall size.

Keeping it light also keeps it from being too thick in the prone. Meanwhile, it's great for vehicle-based work when it might be awkward to get to pouches or pockets on your sides. My NODs I keep wrapped in a "silky" base layer, which I shove into either an LBT SAW pouch on my back if I'm rolling "light," or, if I need some more stuff, I keep it in a pack, as the SAW pouch folds up flat when there's nothing in it, so it doesn't interfere with anything. This does mean that I either need to doff my body armor or get help to get my NODs out if they're in the pouch on my back, but usually if I'm traveling that light, it means I have more support, and more people available to grab my NODs. Keeping them wrapped in the base layer also means that if it gets cold at night, I also have some more snivel to put on. 
I would not recommend keeping NODs in the LAP, or any "tactical-fanny pack"-style pouch, at least not the way I use them. ~Augee |

Foretrex is in an LBT pouch.
"Run down" is pretty straightforward: Crye JPC with "wing" radio pouches--I'm using the kangaroo pouch for magazines, and I have the Crye "rear pull" panel for two more--mostly because someone was selling it on FB for $15
- I use one of the "wing" pouches to store a magazine if I need a "full basic load," and I've got another Eagle LW radio pouch on the right 3/4 of the cummerbund for a second radio if needed, that one would be one that I didn't need to mess with the channel/settings that much if I needed it, most of the time in training though, I'm only running one radio, second one is only needed for "special occasions." One of the PTTs that's currently on it actually has an AUX jack to plug into my iPhone, so I can make and receive calls through my ComTacs . I do, obviously have a second NATO PTT if I needed to run a real radio off it.
- Have various crap stuck in the built-in admin panel as well, GTAs, note cards, etc. HSGI shoulder pads LBT SAW pouch on the back as mentioned for NODs Tactical Tailor LAP Eagle IFAK 2x TYR flashbang, 1x smoke pouches--to be honest, the flashbang pouches don't necessarily get used much for their intended purpose, but they're good for carrying small items that can be kept easily accessible. That's about it, other than having a couple of TQs rigged up as well I think I might be on the edge of what the JPC is really ideal for in terms of support, and I've considered getting an CPC or AVS for a little bit more support--but the JPC was way cheaper, and it wears fine, and I have no real complaints about it so far.
