I am looking for a side saddle (shell holder) for the new Mossberg Shockwave. I prefer the velcro type that would allow me to carry extra cards.

I thought that 3GunGear.com used to make a nice one, but they appear to be out of business.

Open to other suggestions as well  that I may not be aware.

Out of stock. Does it come with the base velcro that mounts to the receiver?

These look like they might work. Would need to buy some industrial strength hook and loop from Home Depot.

You can buy direct from hsgi as well. I used 3m branded self adhesive Velcro for the receiver.

I have a homemade JIC 500 using Esstac 7 round.  I also use one on my full size 500 with extended magazine and 20" barrel.

Only problem I can see with these is that the shot shell card has the the fuzzy side of the Velcro. This is opposite what every other manufacturer does. I'd rather have it so I can use anyone's card on my gun.

Classic Tac-Star Side Saddle

That's what I'm gonna do when I get mine.

I was thinking about going with the 6 round as the 7 round looks long. Does it get in your way at all? If you were to do it again would you purchase the 6 or 7?

I was originally going to go that route, but really like the idea of being able to tear off one set and replace with another. Also, I saw a video on Youtube where a guy was using the Tac-Star side saddle (cant locate it at the moment) on his shockwave and his rounds were creeping out of the side saddle as he shot.

Put a Mesa Tactical on mine...the polymer version, not the aluminum.

Looks good. I also like the Magpul furniture. What scabbard is that?

I was worried about that as well when I ordered the 2 I have. I was pleased as you can see in the picture it is not in the way. I didn't Velcro my gun completely, but enough it holds until I rip the card off.

I'll probably go with Esstac.

I have them on all my shotguns, I been using some of them since 2013 and have held up great.    They make a great product.

I just ordered a couple of the Esstac to try out myself.

I'm going to make 4 mod's to my 590 Shockwave:
7rd Esstac Shot Cards (I keep 5 per gun)
GG&G Follower
Mossberg Aluminum Trigger Group
VanComp Aluminum Safety

PLUS, I will keep an extra OpSol Mini-Clip close by, just in case.

Thanks for the recommendations. I am going to try out the 6 round cards first. I will run the gun through about a 1000 rounds then decide if I need any accessories.
