Thoughts ? I have a 930 black water. I really want a 1301, but don't need both. Should I sell the 930 ? Is the 1301 that much better ?

Lucky Gunner review made me decide to try one out.

Now, having loaded it up with 8 different loads (ranging from Low-Recoil Bird to Slugs, 2 3/4" and 3") randomly in the tube, and failing to make it choke, I am sold. The Blink gas system is perfect and the ergonomics are great.

No complaints.

ARFCOM answer - get both.

My answer, get the Beretta, then sell the 930 if you feel you need the money for a different gun, like an A400 (Big brother to the 1301) for hunting.

My 1301 runs great with everything I've fed it. I've witnessed more than a few really nice straight pull 930s. OR3GUN specializes in getting 930s to run.

The 1301 is a better gun, period. It's like comparing a Fiat to a BMW.

1301 gets my vote.

Love my 1301T. Installed an aftermarket recoil pad from Amazon. What a joy to shoot. Never had a hiccup. Glad I passed on the 930.

Rented a 1301 over the weekend and was most impressed, and I'm a Benelli guy.  Once I find a 1301 in stock I'll be placing an order.

1301. I'd never trust a 930. Caused me way too many problems during matches. Gave up on it.

Found a 1301 on the shelf today and walked out with it.  Took it straight to the range and ran some low recoil 00 through it with no issues.  Much lighter and handier than the Benelli, I likey.

I've put about 1500 rounds of mixed ammo, but mostly 00 buck, through my 1301 in 2016. Haven't had a malfunction yet. Obviously I do clean between outings, but usually shoot 100 to 200 per outing.

I'd highly recommend a magazine release shroud to prevent the infamous shell dump, that will lock up a 1301.

This one gets good reviewslucky gunner recommended.

I have this one installed with zero complaints.
Aridus industries model

I'd stay away from the mesa tactical side saddle as the rail section is too tall and your red dot won't co-witness.

I've been a pump shooter for over 30 years and the 1301 has won me over. light, fast and eats anything I feed it.

I put the TauDev shroud on my 1301 and am very happy with it, especially for 15 bucks.

is the only difference between the 1301 Tactical model and the 1301 Comp model the barrel (length and sights)?  are the operating guts the same?

How about comparing the Beretta to the FN?

Does the aftermarket sell +1 or more mag tube extensions for the Beretta? Being lower capacity than anything else in it's class makes it less desirable, but if there's a simple fix it's no big deal.

Lots of (size) options for Mag extensions for the 1301.  I run Nordic +2 and thats a flush to end of barrel extension.

Mechanically the guns operate the same and share the same design. The receiver, loading and ejection port, along with some trigger group components are longer on the Comp model vs  the Tactical model. (The Comp model uses the 3.5" size receiver to give extra room i nthe loading port area)

that is good info, thanks much for the explanation and the comparison pics.

interesting that Beretta didn't use the same receiver (and group etc) for both types.

I did not either - until I had a Tactical taken model apart a few days ago.
