Hello there! Need a small advice on Rem 870 which I finally got. I want to rebuild it to have a minimum length barrel and the magazine tube to be exactly the same length as the barrel. The shortest I found for sale is a 14" one, but then it would be a few inches longer then the stock tube I have now. Any thoughts? Attached is the photo of what I got now:

A 12.5" barrel should be pretty close to flush with the standard tube and magazine cap, but you will have to cut one to that length. A Vang +1 mag extension will be almost flush with a 14" barrel.

The Vang Comp + 1 is perfect for the 14" factory barrel. It gives a 5 round capacity, keeps the modified choke of the factory barrel, and is flush with the muzzle. I purchased the Nordic Components first it sticks out well past the muzzle. The Vang also has a removable sling plate. |

This one is 14" I had an extra barrel I took a hacksaw to when I got it back. Guncat currently has the real barrel I am going to put on it. If you have an existing barrel that can be shortened you can go to 12.5"

The Secret Service spec'd a 14" fixed modified choke barrel and Wilson/Scattergun +1 extension. Its a fantastic package... I know, I have one of the USSS guns.

When it comes to the plus one mag extensions, which is the best sling set up to go with? Left right ect ect.

I am using the Proctor sling which uses 550 cord girth hitched around the base of the Vang Comp +1. The sling plate on the VC is removable and can be positioned left or right. I use it to prevent the sling from sliding off the gun. It is held in place with a snap ring with the slot to the right so it is out of my way. I will probably grind the slottted side down to match the round side since I don't actually attach my sling to the plate.  " />
