Mossberg 9200A-1

Mossberg 590A-1

Mounted in a little rig behind the bedroom door that the wife and I figured out last week.  Simple and effective.

The tube is loaded with TAP FPD buckshot, the backup is the Winchester Slug/3 plated Buck in the side saddle and Speedfeed.

The wall mounts?

Lowes.  They were just screw to the wall tool hangers.  Bent the top one in a bit so that the forend would sit on it - the bottom ones I snugged a bit - but just for a better fit.

Makes you wonder why they ever bothered painting stocks.  I refinished a painted stock on a Glenfield .22" LR and it came out beautiful.

Do you feel inspired to burglarize his house?  Looks like it would work fine.  I would suggest low-recoil buck and a Pachmayr PG, however.

Ah - it's a 20.  Might look into something heavier than #4.  00 is available, and there was some #1 out there.  #1 will get you 12" of penetration, I believe.  #4 may not do that.

Yeah decided to go with the 20 due to the living situation and a few other things. If one of these Somali pirates did decide to come in I would hate to have a shot miss and blow through these thin walls and take out a child or old lady...the longest distance in here is 20 feet though and this will stop them for sure. I work in a level 3 trauma center and have seen what shotguns, handguns, machetes, skil saws, and pretty much any weapon you can image will do to the human body. I feel comfortable with this set up at the moment. When the day comes and I buy a house I will be using a different rig though

Look up box of truth and educate yourself. Surprised me to find out that buckshot actually punches deeper through dry wall than does a rifle round. Not logical but it's a proven fact

Yeah I have seen that test. Even he says it's flawed in a few ways. Great information either way though. That did help me decide in using a 20 over my 12 gauge and #4 over 00 Buck. #4 for home defense is fairly popular, but switching to #1 isn't a bad idea and I may do that. Some say #4 doesn't reach vital organs. It's a toss up man...my guess is that it will stop them though in time for police to get here. I am more comfortable sleeping next to this than not sleeping next to anything

Thanks for all of your concern guys but I just wanted to post a picture of my shotgun...not start a debate...

How do your neighbors "steal shit from our property", if you live in an apartment? I didn't know apartments had property that comes along with it.

Last time I checked apartments are usually smaller dwellings. I can tell you that trying to load/reload a pump action shotgun, under stress, in narrow hallways is quite a challenge when you have adrenaline coursing through your veins. I've seen people who have problems short-stroking pump action shotguns during the stress of a simple self defense shotgun drill while outdoors. I wonder how people do it when the walls, and doorways are much smaller than a regular 2-3 bedroom house.

This isn't GD, this is a picture thread inside a technical section. GD antics are not welcome here.

I suggest you edit that comment, throw up a pic of your shotgun, and let it go.

Perhaps that's why he's using a pistol grip instead of a stock that adds 12" to the length of his shotgun?    If you're trying to start the AR vs shotgun for HD debate, you're in the wrong thread.
