It was in good condition, I cleaned it up with CLP and a nylon brush. I would say about an 8 out of 10. I have picked up an 870 from him before that was in better shape, but I wanted one with a 2 shot extension, wood furniture, and rifle sights. He had others, but I went with this one. Give him a call he's pretty good at visiting with you and letting you know what he has available.

Here is my Winchester SXP. I've added the ATI furniture kit in gray. It's a very smooth shooting pump gun.

bmyk,
Here are the items I used. I took the gun apart, degreased it and then taped off the internal receiver. I sprayed the dark base coat let it dry a day then I used the lighter color, and I used the plants in the background for a pattern. I pulled a handful, laid them across the gun and sprayed. The good thing is I can change it at anytime and if it gets a little scratched up from use, no big deal.

This thread needs moar knife.

Started out as a field-grade M500A as below:

Between my lathe and mill, I fab'ed out a bayonet lug ala M590 to mount a pig-sticker on the front.

Tried out the rust bluing process with Hydrogen Peroxide, Salt, and White Vinegar. Went 3 boilings and got some good color, but the stock I had on hand (W-1 drill rod and some 4140 bar) got a little splotchy for some reason. I got tired of messing with it after 3 cycles, and decided to roll with it. After some BLO, it evened out a bit and isn't so bad for what it is. This picture makes it look more like a browning, but it's black in person.

Didn't like the field forend, so I threw it on my lathe and turned it down with small grooves for the corncob look. Stained it walnut, called 'er good.

Numrich has the old corncobs in stock, but I like this better and saved $30. 33 cuts for those on the level...
