THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Many of you haven't yet heard of our new pistols or have seen a specimen. We'll try to get information out to you fast. The ArmaLite AR-24 pistol line is a classic combination of some of the highest technology pistols ever made, and manufacturing technology that emphasizes painstaking manufacture at one of the most modern arms factories in the world. What we have developed is a handgun that is both beautiful, very high quality, and reasonably priced. As you read this letter the first shipment of pistols is being processed through Customs at O’Hare airport for transport to ArmaLite. The pistol’s lines hearken back to the classic SIG P-210, with a high capacity, double action frame providing excellent firepower. Construction is quite classical too, with frames, and slides machined from forgings and manufacturing shortcuts omitted. The barrel itself is a made from a forging as well, and the rifling is broached rather than button rifled. Thanks for dropping by. ArmaLite |

Neato! I saw the reviews in the latest Combat Handguns. Looks like some nice pistols.
Any chance of a lefty version (ambi-safety) being available? |

If you need anyone to stress test them, I would be happy to accept a couple of demos and stress test the hell out of them.
Happy to be of service. Flame |

Thanks for the kind offer to stress test the pistols for us. Ya gotta get one out of our own hands first. One of the nice things about working at this place is we get to test a lot ourselves.

Are the pistols covered by the Armalite lifetime warranty?

WE put a 5 year warranty on the pistols. Lifetime on ArmaLite rifles, and 1 year on AR-180 and Eagle Arms rifles.

Yes, a .45 is in the future once we receive the proto-type.
We have declined to produce a .40 on the 9mm frame because of problems seen with some pistols that were based on 9mms. Instead, we're building a .40 by bumping down the .45. |

Now you just need to produce a 1911
so I can add it to my M15 and AR10. |

We have the drawings, but figured that there are so many 1911s in the world that it would look odd for ArmaLite to make more, especially with the new double-action on the way.
We could do it though... we've got one of the best handgun guys in the country on staff, and Mark Westrom was building match guns even before he was on the Army team so he likes them too. Both of them have good ideas but are focused on other projects. |

There are enough 1911's out there anyway - look forward to getting one of the new AR-24's. I have high expectations for them, but I don't think I will be let down. |

Picked up my AR24K today. Took it apart to really go over it and to clean it and was astounded by the quality of this pistol. I am impressed, the machining and finish is flawless, I mean really top shelf. The last pistol I took apart that was anywhere near this quailty was my S42 1936 Luger. Armalite has hit a new high with this pistol and although I haven't shot it yet I have every confidence that it will perform as well as it looks. I happy they didn't cheap out as other Cz75 makers have including the Czech versions. Aside from how it's made this compact version or K model just feels right. It is a natural pointer and the controls are well placed. The grips have a slight palm swell and I chose the wood grips over the available rubber ones. The rubber ones felt great but I just preferred the appearance of the wood. I recently purchased a S&W M&P compact with a polymer frame and looking at it side by side with the AR24 is like comparing a Timex to a Rolex. I can't wait to shoot this pistol. Well done Armalite.

Yep, and the Turkish make some very high quality fireamrs. I just bought one today. The fit is great. Not the usual tool marks of the CZ. The trigger is better than my CZ SA, and the radical sweep of the backstrap feels nice. I also love the palm swells. I will get a chance to shoot it tomorrow.

I had a chance to shoot mine while I was home last, and I rather like it for being a 9mm.
When I get home next I will be putting a picture show together on disassemble and posting it in here for people to see. Pat ![]() |

Shot my AR-24 today. Put 200 rounds through it. I had 5 FTE and one FTF that I beleive were ammo related. I was using a surplus frangible 9mm round. Other than that, the pistol shot great and the trigger was probably the best double action trigger I have ever fired.

Nope, It can't use CZ mags, and this bonehead move will probably doom an otherwise promising pistol. I'll probably go with a CZ-85 Combat just due to the mag issue. The world is afloat in CZ mags. But if the Dems win next year or if this pistol fails in the commercial market, you'll be looking at $200+ for a hi cap mag in a few years. Otherwise: it has a forged frame versus cast for the CZ Pulling the trigger releases spring tension in the firing pin block versus compressing a spring on the CZ, so its easier to get a good trigger (CZ 85 Combat still has no FPB safety - better yet) It has a convensional firng pin retainer plate like a 1911, instead of a cheezy roll pin like the CZ-75 which fails readily if dry fired (CZ 85 Combat has 1911 style retainer) Single sided safety and slide release - this is an advantage to me because it makes it better for CCW. I can get everything else in a CZ-85 Combat - but it's ambi only. I can get single sided controls in a CZ-75, but then have to loose the other features. I think the AR24 is "better", but due to the mag issue, I'll go CZ-85 Combat. Armalite - this was a really bonehead move. |

DO you have plans to get the AR-24 California certified?
How about getting it USPSA approved for Production? |

I'm trying to understand why the mag issue is a bonehead move. I thought the AR-24 was intended to be based on the CZ and not a copy of the CZ. Why would we expect the Armalite pistol to be able to use some other manufacturers mags? Isn't that like expecting Smith and Wesson to come out with a pistol that uses CZ mags? I'm not up on the history of the AR-24's development so I might be missing something here.

Put 100 rounds of Wolf 115 grain 9mm through my AR24 without a hiccup.
