Saw one for sale this weekend, used quite a bit with holster wear on the slide. Stainless frame and parkerized slide. Nowhere near mint condition and no idea how much it had been shot so I didn't make an offer. Any idea what these normally go for?

Just saw a 5" carry model on my local armslist page. I believe he had it for $1900? I could be wrong. I also saw one go used locally for about $1500 in good shape.

My brief search of our records indicates we never did a stainless frame or slide, so it would be very interesting to know what you saw.
Quite a few chromed frames and slides, and also two-tone 1911s-chrome and either blued or Birdsong Black-T/Green-T A few other finished here and there, but all of the slides and frames that I found any record of are all moly.

Hmmmm then it must have been a hard chromed frame? Educate me on the Rock River 1911's please. I didn't snap a pic and I didn't get the old guys name and number. Still kind of "want".

My RR NMA4 and LefT are some pretty damn nice guns and I've always heard good things about the 1911's.

Probably hard chromed.

$1500 give or take.

They are really nice guns. Kind of Les Baer in style, quality, detail, and product lineup, but not a thick of a frame, much more elegant.

Probably more compareable to a Springfield Custom than a Baer.

This is my experience as well. The Bullseye crowd likes Rock River 1911s.

Yes, it is a fair bit more refined than the Baer. I'd happily pay $1500-$1800 for a good one.

Here is my elite tac. Has a wilson magwell and armor tuff paint job. I love RRA's and would gladly scoop more up.

Yes, it is a fair bit more refined than the Baer. I'd happily pay $1500-$1800 for a good one.

Very nice.

You can see the obvious frame thickness differences in the triggerguard between the RRA and the Baer nicely there.

Get both is the answer!

We've never stopped making them, just stopped cataloging them and significantly slowed production when rifles really took off in '08.
Still sell quite a few during the course of the year and at Camp Perry.
Forged steel frames and slides (except the Tactical-railed- frame, which was billet). Mostly all made in 45 ACP with several models exclusively in 9x19. Also did 38 Super, 40 S&W, 10mm, a few in 9x23, 38 Special Auto, and several other calibers. Almost all with KART barrels. almost all 5".
Very few built exactly as they were cataloged, since each is/was built to order, most were custom ordered by/for a particular individual rather than an inventory pistol at a dealer.
The last one I saw for sale used was a two-tome (Black t frame and chromed slide) wad gun in 45 ACP. It had several custom features, and it went at $2750. Before that I saw a carry gun, also 5" and .45 ACP, with considerable holster wear on it's blue frame and slide, and I believe it wen tat $2000ish. Again, those were used pistols on the secondary market. New ones start around $2500 and go up from there.
I personally have a Parkerized carry gun that will shoot a five-shot group in a ragged hole, then I get excited and throw one high and right by about an inch, and then bring the seventh round back into the group...and I'm not a 1911 guy..

This. I want. Now. $$$. Since i got my tactical, ive drooled over another. So hard to find.

ETA: i called and the nice lady said no new orders. I could, however, pick from a few available tacticals, hardballs, or wadcutters. Sucks.

Best bet is to call our Sales department for information on new builds. We aren't currently doing every model and configuration that we once offered, and some of the options are limited at this time.
Sales number is 866-980-7625. Ask for Ulanda (Sales Manager, handles all of the 1911 sales at least initially).

I did not know these were still made, and normally I know that kind of scoop. I guess RRA doesn't need to advertise them because the AR sales are more profitable for them? If so, that's certainly understandable.

they're not that's the problem.

I've only seen one and it had a 1900 price tag on it. It looked like it had had quite a few rounds through it.

I was such a broke ass kid when RRA 1911's were still made.

I'd really like to find a 5" Elite Commando somewhere. I check Gunbroker every now and then, but no luck. Other than the cheesy name, the Elite Commando Government size in blue is probably the perfect 1911.

There is a pro carry on gb. Way too much money though, and its hard chrome. For a cheaper price and ionbond black it would be tits.

LOL. Just a few posts up. Wow.

I debate selling off a bunch of stuff just to be able to own one. I wonder if they're still making the 4.25"er. In 9mm would be a really really nice pistol. IMHO. Although .45 wouldn't be bad. Maybe a small bit of a carry bevel on the bottom of the frame and yowza.

They have some tacticals, hardballs, and hardballs on hand......but they will not build you(retail customer) a new elite or pro carry and cannot say when/if that time will come again. We are without what we really want.

Not the Elite Commando.

I spoke to Ulanda today. They're only producing railed guns, Hardballs, and Wadcutters. I don't want a rail and I don't shoot NRA Bullseye. Anyone out there want to sell me an EC for a reasonable price?
