Looking at one of their CCO models (Compact RCS Nitron) and was wondering about the reliability of the external extractor. Anyone have any experience with them? Thanks.

I have 4 of them and they have all been 100% though I hear the new ones have some issues.

only one of the 4 has the sig slide and the rest are traditional slides (much better as you can buy holsters for them without ordering custom every time)

they make an all metal cco called the traditional compact carry

external extractor works great, but I just don't like how it looks

From what l've read, it's a hit or miss it appears in terms of reliability. For as expensive as they are, IMO they should have stayed true and kept an internal extractor.

My nitron fs has been perfect.
Prolly 500 rounds w/o a detail strip cleaning

My Scorpion has been good but it took a recoil spring change to make it 100%

I had an XO a few years ago that gave me zero problems. Sold it to fund another pistol, big mistake. In fact I regretted it so much I just bought a Nitron full size last night.

My 1911 STX has been flawless. Even with the Sig slide, no custom holster needed. Crossbreed Supertuck FTW!

I had one that I did not have any issues with.

Was not crazy about the external extractor, but it worked fine for what it was.

One complaint I did have with mine (a GSR) was that the thumb safety (not the grip safety) was too "skimpy" - I wish they had made it slightly larger.

Aside from that it was a good shooter though.

Bought a Tacops that had issues out of the box.  Its fixed and runs good now.

Bought a Traditional Compact (CCO) that was 100% out of the box.

Luck of the draw.  With that, I'm done with Sig 1911's.

leather holster will be an issue and will have to be sig slide specific if you don't go the traditional way

I have a kingtuk holster that fits every 1911 I own rails or no rails

but I prefer leather

My gunsmith claims Sig makes some of the best out the box 1911s in the industry.

I've never owned one but I do need a railed 5"......
