If I were you I would just call Mec-Gar and go from there.

I think Mec Gar still makes them. If your Arty is a shooter grade and I hope it is if your shooting it and the adjustment screws move freely you can use a pair of needle nosed pliers to move it.

I doubt it's a "collector grade" gun. I don't plan to shoot it much, but it's gone to range twice now, enough to know the elevation is off. I want to try shooting it at extreme ranges using the tangent sight.
After zeroing it will likely only be shot once a year at most, just two or three mags full of ammo each time. I might be able to make an adjuster from a carefully bent and soldered paper clip.

I just noticed this too. I only have 2 mags right now and one is dented. The one Mec-Gar mag I got turned out to be a POS. Are there any alternatives out there that aren't $300? I have a frankenluger shooter so I don't care about anything matching.

Last year I stumbled into a pitted, but very shootable Artillery Luger. I too was looking for the Mec-Gar mags, Oddly enough, I got some Mec-Gar and some cheaper "Mitchell" mags which have a plastic base on ebay. The Mec-gar are better made, with better base, but the cheaper Mitchells work great.
I took my son out last week to shoot it and we had 5 mitchell mags, 2 Mec-Gar and the original vintage wood bottom mag (new wolf spring in it). All worked great. My boy loved that Luger. Its been reblued and has all new springs - runs like a champ with most ball ammo. |

Greg Cote LLC has MecGar luger mags in stock...I just ordered/received a couple.
