I know absolutely nothing about it.  Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.  I can try to get better ones if necessary.

Cheap Sarco grips that don't fit right, bubba buffed the shit out of it. You didn't say the maker or caliber so can't comment. If it goes bang and cycles it's worth about $450-$500.

I don't see a make or caliber listed on it anywhere.  It says "byf" on the top.

I'm going to check now and see if it shoots.

It seems to have some issues chambering, but it cycled and shot no problem.

byf is the code for Mauser.

Sweet!  It may have been polished more than stock, but it's a beautiful color.

Feeding issues are almost always magazine related, what mag is with it? I assume since you shot it, it is in 9mm.

It's a co-workers gun.  It's not marked, but he told me it was a 9mm.

I don't have a picture of the mag, but it looks just like this:

ETA: and the mag is a major pain in the ass to load!

He needs a loading tool. Ask him what the numbers and proof mark is on the magazine bottom.

Buy a Mec-gar mag. and it should work perfectly.

Look for a starburst style stamp.  If present, it's a VoPo (VolksPolizie),  East German Police. Lugers, Mausers, Sauer&Sohn, etc, were refinished and used early Post WWII.

Can someone show me some of these "$450-$500" Lugers so I can buy 3 of them? Shooter grade mix masters are at least in the $700-$800 range as far as I've seen...

Nice Luger OP. Without details on year, and whether or not more parts don't match it's hard to tell how much it's really worth. It's been refinished and at the very least the side plate doesn't match. That doesn't make it a $450-$500 gun...

Clearly a Mauser made receiver and buffed and refinished. It is definitely no East German Vopo rework. I have to agree with MauserMatt on the smart $500 remarks.
