How do you store or organize your handgun magazines?
How do you store or organize your holsters and magazines carriers? Currently when I buy a handgun I buy 9 or 10 magazines per gun to start and store them on a shelf in my safe but it's quickly becoming an unorganized mess. I am contemplating switching to some plastic storage bins and just labeling them g19, p229, m&p, shield, etc but I have no idea where I would keep the bins either. To complicate things more I keep my range mags separate from my carry mags on another shelf with holsters and mag carriers. Do any of you guys have a better system? I am sick of swimming through mags and kydex looking for what I need. |

My safe has a bunch of elastic loops inside the door that are positioned right below pistol holders. I stack them all in there, but I only have 5 pistols and ~30 mags between them so it isn't a huge deal.
I'd clear the gear out of the safe. Too much valuable stuff that needs to go inside to clutter with a couple hundred dollars worth of plastic. |

I made a bunch of magnetic strips.
I used those metal strips you hang the shelves on, which I took out of my safe. I placed small magnets on them, wrapped the whole thing in silicone tape, and drilled them to the walls/door of the safe. The magnets are strong enough that I can hang loaded mags on them with no problem. |

I have a cardboard box full of Glock mags.
43, 19, 17 mags. A PILE of 'em. |

I have my old foot locker filled with magazines. Also orangizer draw filled with mags.

A Sterilite plastic tub on one shelf in the safe holds my pile of pistol mags. Empty ones. Loaded ones on another shelf in another tub.

In a box full of fuck....
I have been thinking about getting a plastic drawer thingy to organize them and using my label maker to label the drawers. |

I store mags for each caliber/pistol in these, Plano 3650 tackle organizer,
Holsters in a vertical shoe organizer attached to inside the door of my safe. |

My gun room and safes are a fugn mess. I've been trying for years to organize it but just to much and not enough space.
I use duffle bags for platforms Keep the extras in boxes plastic totes etc |

Thanks for all of the suggestions everyone, I am going to try a few of these and see what works best for me. Glad to know I am not the only one with this problem.
The plastic bins AssaultRifler posted look perfect, I am going to try that first and see how it works out. Time to buy a label maker! |

I use .50 cal cans, cheap, protect the mags well, easy to label, stack on one another.... I have hundreds of various magazines to keep up with and since the magazines don't weigh much .50 cal cans work wonderfully.

I commandeered one of the linen closets in the "guest wing" of the house which we do not use except for guests and Lined the shelves with my old issue military brown towels and have them lined up on the shelves groups by caliber and model. The shelf below that has holsters one above holds all the empty boxes from pistols and the floor has all the bags and packs I use for range trips

Pistols stored in "Bore Stores" in safe. Magazines stored in these really cool binder looking books that have pockets for about 20 magazines each. I don't know what they are called and I have never seen them since I purchased them. I have one book per firearm.

No way I could fit all my magazines in something like that. My Glock mags alone would fill 3/4s of that.

I got a bunch of "Modular Sustainment Pouches" from London Bridge Trading piss cheap several years ago. I put tags on the bags to ID the mag type and just have a pile of those bags in a big plastic tote... keeps pistol mags easily separated and easy for range use.
I load em up, take it to range with an empty and drop empties into the 2nd bag... they go back into the tagged bag for storage. Holsters I tend to write on with a sharpie if they aren't frequently used or clearly marked by the maker. I keep a big bin in my reloading room that has all my 'failed' holster purchases (I should really sell them...) and I have a drawer of holsters that I use frequently in the bedroom right below the socks and undies. |

I use a magnetic tool bar that I bought at Home Depot for $13. I have it installed on the inside door of my safe, and it's currently holding 19 various sized magazines. I also covered the bar with adhesive backed felt to prevent any damage to the magazines. The magnet is even strong enough to hold metal lined Glock magazines securely. Several of these mounted on a wall would be very space efficient storage for magazines and could be expanded easily.

These little drawer units hold about a dozen 1911 or 1076 mags and about half as many G20 mags.

50 caliber ammo cans are a perfect fit for Glock 17 magazines.

I just toss 'em all in a rubbermaid box and grab what I need before heading to the range. No need to get fancy. I only have around 3-4 for each gun anyways with a few (Glock & FN) that I have 8+ for.

mine are all dumped in a rubbermaid box also except for my HK mags, they are in a separate box- both in my safe. My AR mags are in my garage in a box.

The back of the top shelf of my gun safe is lined with something similar to these.

This is essentially what I have as well. Went down to the hardware store and bought some little stackable totes like these except mine are clear.

You guys are way to organized. All my handgun magazines are all together in the same box. (In a locked metal cabinet) now my AR magazines are on a shelf in the safe. Don't know why they get priority!

[#32]
I definitely don't have as many pistol mags as you guys.
I use ammo cans for AR/AK/VZ rifle mags, but I have about a dozen different pistols and each one only has 3 to 6 mags each (except 1911s) I got one of those MTM AR mag storage cans as a gift, I'd need a half dozen just for my AR mags but they're great for organizing small groups of pistol mags. Each mag slot is big enough for two double stack pistol mags or 4 single stacks. Except for my 15 round FNX-45 mags, the mushroom endplates take up too much space to share. I've got three cans, one for single stacks, two for double stacks split into 9mm & .45/10mm. The left side of the inside lid has ribs for strength, the right side is open. So the two right side rows are able to handle 30 round hicap mags like Beretta 92 30s, Colt smg 9mm 32s or MP5-22 25 rounders. Not the most efficient way to store mags but an easy way to organize them, and keep those three Sig 226 mags separate from thirteen Beretta 92 mags. |
|
[#33]
I separate them and put the most used in my safe in pockets on the inside of the door. I put the extra mags in boxes and keep them separate. But, I have bunches of them for my Glocks, M&Ps, and HKs. which I keep in drawers in a book case.

Empties get stored in ammo cans, loaded ones go into these things just inside the door of the vault. I get the left side of the door, wife's go on the right.

In pistol magazine pouches.
OD green is my P09 9MM Woodland camo is my P07 .40 S&W That funny looking camo (can't remember what it's called) is P09 .40 S&W. All the CZ 75 magazines are in yet a different color pouch. Makes it easier for me to tell my wife to grab pouches all the same color. |

Rubbermaid totes. Smallish ones for handgun mags, big ones for rifle mags.

I use these in line pouches. http://www.tuffproducts.com/range-gear/inline-magazine-pouches/

I'm onboard with AssaultRifler. A Stack of Acrabins in the way to go for storing pistol mags.
I have mag sleeves/pouches for the pistols that are in a heavier range rotation. The rest are organized in labeled bins inside a cabinet. |

I have a 50 caliber ammo can for each pistol. I use the cans for spare parts and for their mags. I put the mags in 7 pocket M16 bandoleers, and roll them up, and put them in the can.

These things are the perfect size for pistol mags. I can fit 15-20 Glock 17 mags in each one. I label them on the front.
