Found a box of 9mm Black Talons...got to be 20+ years old...would love to carry them EDC. Should I run them or pull the bullets and reload them? My EDC gun runs 110% with my reloads so no issue there.

I wouldn't and I have some too.  They are good stuff, but so are the current offerings.  The HST, Gold dot, and Ranger bonded are probably better.  and you can shoot plenty of those to be confident in function and zero.

I will say in a very unscientific test, I hit a prairie dog standing in front of an anthill with a .40 talon.  10 yards, ripped it in half and I recovered the bullet from the anthill.  It looked just like the pics, perfect mushroom with little talons of jacket.

I also took a 600 lb bull elk, one shot with a 30-06 black talon.  One shot, drt.

Still, the new stuff is at least as good, prolly better.
Sell it or just decorate the gun safe like me.

Ammo given reasonable storage can be trusted for decades I say shoot it up or just a few and carry it. I have shot ammo made prior to World War One that ran just fine, and some of the 50 cal ammo we were issued in Iraq was over 40 years old.

Why not just buy the new ones? Winchester still makes them. They are now called the Winchester Ranger T. Same ammo but a few generations newer with many improvements and it's no longer that "evil" black color!

I just took a 600 pound hog with my FN FNX-45 Tactical using a 230gr +P Ranger T. This is the round I pulled out of it, perfect expansion too!

Sell them for stupid  amount of $$, then buy 3-5 times the amount of HST from SG Arms or Bone Frog, and possibly still have enough extra left over for a magazine or two. It is amazing what some people will pay for these things.

I see these things actually move at $3 per round. This past winter, I watched someone hand over $100 ($5/rd) for a box of 20 at a gunshow. Never underestimate stupid!

I'd hang on to them, they're starting to have collectable value.  I've got a box of .45acp.

I would hang on to them and just carry Ranger T or HST.

Buzz saws of death.

Of course they are not actually turning any faster than the twist rate of the barrel.

So 1 in 16 for a .45 ACP.

That's pretty much what the Talons do. The first Black Talons used steel not copper. Very sharp.
