I own both. I still prefer my glock over the 320.

Glock19

When the 320s first came out there triggers were nice. Last few we got into the store have had shit triggers. Worse than a stock Glock.

Even with the nicer original triggers I'd prefer the Glock with $20 worth of parts.

Plus cheaper mags

The glock is better if you are really being objective.

Just bone stock glock but with the 320 having a non seralized grip it's nice that you can get extras cheaply and just drop in the seralized part to the grip. I think it has a lot of potential because of that but the glock is iconic for a reason.

Have both. Sig has better ergo's, better trigger, better sights, better shooter.  Never see threads about "my 320 shoots low and left". Glock is good, sig is better, just being objective.

Owned many 19s, a 320C, and a 320 full-size slide.
I hate the grip on Glocks, and the "small" frame for the 320 fit perfectly--especially after I stippled it a bit and did an undercut.
The trigger on the 320 was better, shooting it was just as easy despite the "higher bore axis", etc. If I had one today, I'd put the Bruce Gray trigger kit in it.
--
But the SIG felt a lot bulkier and heavier and top-front heavy.  I never had an issue, but from following a lot of competition and big local shooters, I suspect we'll see ANOTHER extractor fix in the future--I'm not convinced it's 100% up into 5K or 10K territory.
In the end, it just didn't carry as easily as the G19, and I wanted to sell one to try out the VP9.
I MAY come back to the 320 after I try out the CZ P1C.
If so, I'll have to find the holster that works just right for me (I bought a cheap one on eBay for the VP9, but it felt great and carried easily as well as my -9 despite being bigger and heavier).
--
For a newbie who isn't going to shoot more than 6-8 times a year, I thInk the 320 is a better value out of the box.  But if I could only have one, it'd be the G19 for sure:

Owned and carried both. Still carrying the Sig. I've sold both of the Glocks I've owned, and kept both Sigs.

I compete with a glock. My buddy with a new p320. Last Saturday's match 2x during a mag change the slide did not pick up a new round from his p320.  Good news for me because without those screw ups  he might have beat me it was close.
I'll be sticking to my glocks. Almost 10,000 rds and not a single failure of any kind in my g34! the same no malfunctions from my g19 and my g17 although they have a few less rds through them.

Glock. The 320 is an okay pistol however.

I can't get over the fact that the 320 slide is 1.4" wide. That is ridiculous. The trend is to make the slide as thin as possible. I think G19 is only 1.2".  People go all the way down to single stack just to get down to 1" wide, so we know damn well that .2" is important. Yet no one ever brings this up about the 320. It simply is not a good concealed carry gun because of the width alone, and that is the main role people buy pistols to fill. The 320 I tried out at the LGS had an amazing trigger like none I've ever felt, so I do see some attraction there as a target pistol.

This is a hard question because for me the Glock is my go to.  I would have no issue with carrying a P320 if I was given one as a sidearm at all because they are good pistols.  Really it comes down to what pistol fits the shooter best because we can sit here and have a pissing contest which is better and argue the merits of this and that.  I will be frank though they both can sling little copper coating lead candies and they both can do it reliably so it really comes down to what is best for the shooter not which is better.

Have both.  The SIG is a recent addition.  So far I like both and am not ready to pick one over the other.  My initial impression of the 320 (I have a 9mm Carry) has been extremely positive.  I'm especially impressed with its accuracy.

My first line was Glock is my go to.  But I cannot take a dogmatic view that the Glock is the end all or the Sig is the grail gun.  Neither is that much better than the other that it is an end all gun.  Plus what works for me may not work for someone else that is the fact of the matter.  I cannot bring myself to like a Springfield XD but it is still a good pistol even though it has Grip Zone.

This doesn't really surprise me.  I thought the trigger was great on the P320, but it sounds like once again, Sig has outkicked it's coverage as far as manufacturing capability/QC.  Rumors are that Sig is going to pick up another large federal agency, which will only increase demand on their production ability, something's got to give.  Let us know if this trend continues please.

Was just out this last Friday to shoot the 19, P320, VP9 and PPQ side by side.  From a shooting perspective for us, liked the P320 more than the 19, but really the VP9 came out on top as the clear winner among the 4 for shooting (PPQ might just need some more breaking in, but was close to the VP9).

On the other hand, if one factors in the availability of stuff to go with, in or on the gun, the Glock is hard not to like since it has been around so long and there are so many options. Still wouldn't carry it personally, but fine for range time.

The Glock 19 is a well proven pistol. The P320 compact, however, does not have finger grooves on the grip and has a better trigger. For me, the compact Glocks do not fit my hand well at all and the P320 does. Overall, in a compact pistol, I prefer the P320. In fullsize configuration they are pretty much equal for me so far.

Thanks for your rant.
Hopefully noobs don't get misled, since you got the numbers wrong.

I just measured the width of both slides.
Glock G19 ... 1.005"
Sig P320 ..... 1.055"

.050" is negligible as far as concealability is concerned.

Own and carry both.

Stock for stock, the sig is the better gun, IMO.

To the guy saying the Sig is overpriced crap, I paid almost the same amount for both the sig and the glock. So go be a misinformed jag somewhere else. Sure appears that you have no experience.

My g19 is now a roland special and it is a better shooter than the sig, but there is good money in it. I wouldn't mind picking up another g19 and keeping it mostly stock for CC.

Per arfcom's usual, get both

I really love the P320 Compact

BUT

It is a single win in the field. In other words, if I were only shooting/competing/carrying one gun it's very possible I'd go 320. But as it stands I'm sticking with Glock as I carry a G42, use the G19 for general shooting and home defense and a tricked out G17 for competition.

Fact =Sig is a well made handgun.
Fact =Sig met the specific terms of the contract.
Fact = Sig bid each unit at $207.  An excellent low price for our country.

Fact = SOCOM could have P320 if they wanted.

Fact = SOCOM went with Glock.

I prefer Glock. I like Sigs just fine. Financially I think we did just fine with the Sigs.  It's to bad we can't train out standard troops to safely be issued the P320 without the idiot switch.

This is my safety sir.

You all realize that the 320s are going to go on to Army Socom units MTOE? If they choose to continue to use unit funds to buy glocks is to be seen.

I like them both. If I could only have one gun however it would be the Glock 19. 10k and counting on my 19rtf2 with only changing a recoil spring and proper lubrication.

I simply have more experience with the 19 and prefer it's trigger and low bore axis but I don't think either one is actually better than the other.

Edit to add: just for the record, plenty of SEALs are continuing to use their 226s cause it's the Indian not the arrow. FWIW that's from a very credible source who stated they asked if he wanted a Glock too and he said yeah as long as you don't take my 226 away. He said they can and will still continue to support the 226. But that is SEALs and we all know they can get away with more so I'm not sure if that's the case for everyone.

I haven't asked if they will be using the 320 as well but I can find out.

Fact most sidearms go unused except in practice and range day.
Fact most special ops guys buy their own or have choice of what pistol they want and the issue pistol sits in a armory room never used.
Fact Glock has majority of LEO and Sig has Army but guess what they are both good handguns and do exactly the same thing.

Why do these threads always turn into penis measuring contest or who can pee further than who?

I was considering a 19 and had almost resigned myself to one, then the guy behind the counter handed me a 320c.  I fell in love; it fit my hand perfectly and it shoots great.

My wife, OTOH, seems to like the 19 better, and will probably end up buying one this week after she test fires the pistols she looked at last weekend.

I  say, go with what works best for you.

I swear CNN has taken this site over with all the Fake News type of statements.

Have a 19. Wanted the 320 since I handled the first one the LGS got in.  It's an amazing piece.  Think of this.  In America, we have beautiful women on different hair color and skin color.  It's a buyers market and you can have whatever you prefer.  In Austria they have beautiful blondes with milk toned skin and you can have any beautiful blonde with milk tone skin you want.  Table pepper burns their bland tongues.

Glock polymers hasn't felt robust since the HK USP showed everyone how a tank should be built.  Glocks are sensitive to American rounds and the 40 beats them to death.  Isn't that kinda sad? I can't think of another company that has that wide spread of a known factor with 40. The Steyr M40 feels like a porn star on prom night. It makes everything so easy and exciting. I love my Glock 19 but I'm a realist too. The Sigs ability to swap frames is a future proof design. In a couple of years everyone will have 3D printers and be able to scan their hand in 3D and have a grip module made custom for you.  And finally, Glocks customer service makes HK look like your best friend.  Now I'm not talking about having a problem with a Glock and having them help you.  I'm talking about a company that doesn't listen to it's customers. Glock carbine anyone? How about a single stack, OK after 15 years here it is in a caliber and size no one asked for! I bet SHOT 2017 was awesome with all the Gen 5 FBI models huh?

Glocks are the Chrysler minivan of guns. They work, they do a lot better than you ever want to admit. But at the end of the day you are the guy driving a mini van.

Everyone that says SOCOM chose the G19 over the P320 should realize that they went with the Glock before the SIG even existed. Thus, you can't claim they chose one over the other.

The only reason you've been hearing about the Glock 19 lately, is because some hold outs (SEALs) are finally joining the rest of SOCOM and adopting it
