I have a G17 that I chopped to take G19 mags and really think a G19 sized pistol is about perfect for an all around pistol. What else is out there in close to the same size? SA, DA/SA, striker, don't care. Most of the ones I've seen are much taller in the grip making them harder to conceal.

Beretta 92C, CCO 1911s, Browning HiPower, Sig 228/229, CZ compacts

Walther P99 AS and PPQ
Sig 229 CZ P 01 CZ 75D PCR CZ 75B Compact. Cannot go wrong with any of those. |

I agree the G19 is just about the perfect size for every use. I live in Connecticut so we have a 10 round mag thing. So I went back to carrying a 1911. Played with the CCO size, but the regular Colt Combat Commander works best for me.

Beretta PX4 Storm compact Sig Sauer P320 compact CZ PO-1, PO-6, PO-7 HK P2000 M&P 45 compact Springfield Armory Range Officer compact Out of my list the CZ PO-1 and M&P 45C I have owned. Both great pistols. I have shot the PX4 Storm compact and was very impressed. Shot flatter and softer than my G19G4. I think I will buy one in the very near future. |

I have a cz75 compact. It is about exactly the same size as the Glock 19. It is much heavier though. That is either a plus it a minus for you.

A Glock 30 is basically the same size as a Glock 19. Even the Glock 29. But why not just get a Glock 19?

I was wondering what else there was in the same form factor. Unless I find one of those Vicker's G19s for sale. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I would go G30S for the 10 round deal, gets your size, your max load, and lots of Ammo options

G30S View Quote Good answer. 30S is just a little thicker in the frame and grip, slide is about the same. 30S will usually carry-fit in the same leather holster as the 19 if it doesn't have a top strap. Sig P228-229 are very close and the M&P9C is just a touch less tall and long. |

I'm a Glock 19 shooter.
When I want a DA/SA, I use an H&K P2000. |

The Sig p320c (as in compact) is almost the same size as the Glock 19, same capacity too.

S&W SD series are the same size. This, lots of uninformed people don't like them, but there isn't a better bargain in a handgun. I have three SD9s I had a SD9VE and it was not only reliable, but very accurate. I sold it to fund something else, but I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another. Most people read Sigma reviews and think every model since then is the same. The SD9VE even has a better trigger than the SD9. It also fits in a lot of holsters made for the G19. |

M&P9C
Slightly smaller (in between the 19 and 26) but still has good capacity (12+1), shoots nice and I can get a full grip on it. It's now my favorite concealed carry semi-auto. |

Recently picked up a SD40VE--amazing gun for the price---basically a US made Glock for $200 less backed by a lifetime warranty from a major gun manufacturer.
Better trigger than the M&P---yes better-------the factory M&P trigger has a strange jerk at the end of the cycle causing the front sight to move ----the SD trigger while a little heavier doesn't do that and is VERY accurate. Have dumped every M&P I've ever owned over the years---will be definitely be picking up another SD. The SD also has some of the cleanest machining I've ever seen on a gun---including the high dollar ones-----just take a look on the inside of the slide on a SD. Won't be getting rid of my Glocks but more SD's will be in my future. |

HK VP9.
If I had my G19 and my VP9 sitting on a table (and any other striker fired 9mm you can think of) and I had to pick only one for the rest of my life, I'd take the VP9 without hesitation. Best 9mm I've ever owned, and I own/owned a whole bunch. |

I used to EDC a G17. I have lost 35 pounds in the last 3 months and no longer have a love handle to hide the full size grip up against. Went to my G19 about two weeks ago and was amazed at how much better it hides and how much more comfortable it is to sit with a half-inch difference in grip length.
The best thing that is the size of a G19, is a G19. |

I still like the M&P platform, but shoot the SD9 better. I currently have M&Ps in 9mm and 45 ACP, and previously had one in 357 SIG. My stepson is a former Marine, one day he and I shot the M&P9 and SD9 back to back and both of us shot better with the SD9. I now have two of the original all black SD9s and one SD9VE. They are all great shooters and I paid $300 or less for each one. |

Steyr 9mm P9

Went to the gunshop to look around and accidentally bought another Glock, a Gen 4 G19.

I am a fan of the CZ P-07/P-09 series .
The P-07 is about the size of a G19. |

Trigger was meh when I first got it, much improved with use. Apex has a spring kit for the gun, I was a beta test for them. I got almost no improvement with the springs they sent so I put the OEM ones back in, but the new kit may be better? |

But for my purposes the VP9 works very well in a Nano IWB. I used to carry a G19 and it carries very well. I'm just not a Glock guy anymore. If I had to carry a G19 size gun for some reason it would be a PPQ not a G19. But I'm content with my VP9. |
