Glock 20. It does everything the 17 does except it's basically a .357 Magnum, and I hang out in the woods a lot.
Maybe a G29 since it's G19-sized. I'd have to play with one to see if I like it. Sure ammo is expensive, but if I can't buy 87 other pistols in your fantasy scenario I can afford a ton of ammo |

My USP45. Been through more good times with that gun than any other.

Would love to say my Glock 22, but since this is a one gun thread I would have to say my,
Sig 229 .357 Sig. I would keep it because it shoots great, have a .40 barrel for it, and it was also my first duty weapon. |
Promised myself I'd never sell another gun unless it was an utter POS.

My HK P2K9. I've carried it for 6 years now and won't let it go.
My Wilson Combat Ultralight Carry. It's one of three handguns I own, and by far the nicest. It's the only "high end" firearm I own.

Smith & Wesson 242 Scandium round butt L-frame DOA snub with a 7 shot Titanium cylinder. 19 oz. not my pics but you get the idea. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y145/CW_Tuggle/Guns/guns039.jpg http://retting.com/aa/sw242new.jpg View Quote I used to have one just like that, but in .44Spcl. Stolen. |

My Colt Combat Elite 1911 I purchased new in 1985 and carried for 25 years on the job. Last year I sent it out to Don Williams for a little TLC, cost me more then I paid for it. It never ever ftf, however I did have a front trijicon site come out at advanced auto pistol school.

All my HK's.
Plan to add a USP 40 and USPC 357Sig and maybe another USP TACTICAL 45 |
Does my heart good to see all the guys posting about revolvers in this thread!

S&W 627 Pro 8 shot .357 mag w/ 4" barrel. Took me a while to save up and buy it

Sig P226 9mm Navy. 2006 build date, great ergonomics, smooth shooting, totally reliable, extremely accurate, high capacity and excellent quality.
For me it would be between my smith 66 w/4inch or old Kimber 1911.
I can only get down to two.
My CZ 75B 9mm, and, my Walther P99c AS, also in 9mm. |

Tough question. My handgun collection is pretty set at this point, and I don't see myself getting rid of any of them. That being said, if I had to grab one out of the safe if the SHTF, it would be my S&W M&P VTAC 9mm. I shoot it as well and any of my other pistols, and I would be loathe to leave it behind for any reason.

I have(3)... A semi-custom "NM" serial Springer 1911, an M&P40(mid-size) with an Apex competition sear, RAM, USB, and a re-worked trigger bar by me, (for a reset/break that rivals my favorite 1911), and an M&P40c with a RAM and Ameriglo night sights and a massaged trigger. They are the only pistols that have over 1K rounds without a failure I've owned. I wish I could say that about other pistols I tried to make work...

My Glock 19 gen 3 is my go to gun at the range or for HD. I put the most rounds through this firearm than any other firearm I own. It does what I want it to do without fail. I would never let this firearm go.

What is this "one gun" you speak of? A tie between my engraved Series 70 and my Combat Elite. |
Learned a long time ago to never say "never". But the last one to go would be my S&W 4506.
I have a couple that I really like (P229, G19, HK P30).
But if I had to pick one.... My Sig P229R E2 9 mm. Easily. I shoot it the most consistently, I can and have carried it, used it for training classes. |
it's a toss up between the Colt Govt model series 70 and Browning HP. They've both had some work and shoot very well. I've had the series 70 for a long time. I've only had the BHP for six months, it made the trip to Novak's recently. I guess I'm not a "There can be only one" guy.

My P226. Too many rounds down range. And it rides on my hip every night
No such thing for me. All my guns can be easily replaced. And can get sold/traded for the right deal.
The last gun I would want to get rid of would be my RMR'd m&p 45c. It's currently listed on the EE in case the right deal comes along. |
My 2000 model G23. It was College Graduation present from my parents and when I started in LE work .40 was THE choice . Still is in many of the depts. I work with.
It has NEVER failed me in 15 years. |
