So I'm sitting here looking at different things on gunbroker when an old XP-100 pops up(XP-100 for those not in the know), and I start thinking about how cool it would be to have one with a 12.5" 6.8 SPC barrel....

So does anyone here know if a standard 700 6.8 bolt would work in the XP-100, or if any other rounds have the same bolt face size that would work?

The XP-100 has a Remington 600 style bolt.

when I started shooting metallic silhouette in the very early 80s, XPs re chambered in 7TCU (.223 brass opened and fire formed to 7mm) and especially the 7BR guns re chambered for 7-08 were very popular... brass was easily converted and you got the increased bullet weight and ballistic co-efficient of a 7mm projectile

I don't reload, and really don't plan on starting in the near future, but I'll keep that in mind. I just want a 6.8 cause its different and I already have an AR in 6.8, so its already a caliber that I buy ammo for.

A XP100 in 300bo would be nice
