No clue, how can I tell? This is my first 1911 so I'm still learning, I just did enough reading and looking at photos that I knew I wanted a Wilson Combat or a Night Hawk and there was a waiting list for Wilson Combat.

EDIT: A quick google search tells me that Nighthawk Talon's are all built on 70 series frames.

That's where you went wrong, you never go to just look. Pick some obscure gun/part and go looking for that, it'll help.
At the least you'll have a reason for going that's better than "just to look".

Thanks guys, can't wait to bring her home, get it lubed up and put a few rounds through it at the range. All my center fire handguns are 9mm, so this will be a new experience for me in more ways than one.

Great pistol. I would imagine you'll be happy. Although I've never fired such a nice 1911 myself.

I gave up on the "just gonna look" thing. I know better, my wife knows better. The only question is how much less money am I walking out with. My wife usually tells me how much money is available without transfering money. So I usually take that as approval to get it. Stupid woman should know by now

I don't know of any upper tier 1911 makers who does a Series 80 style. There may be someone out there doing it, but *I* haven't yet seen one.

I had the same problem the week of my B-day earlier this month. I was looking for a birthday present. Could not find anything locally so I hit Gunbroker and got lucky. Saw this with a fair BIN price and grabbed it.

If I end up enjoying the platform, there's a fair chance I'll be buying another lower cost 1911 to do most of my shooting with. I only give it a fair chance because there's a lot of promising and low cost 1911 solutions out there now, (Rock Island, ATI, Tisas) which I'd love to try but sadly none of them are on CA roster, so my "lower cost 1911" options are probably still going to be pretty expensive.
