I know FN handguns are even less popular than .40sw, but if you're looking for a screaming price in a NIB service size/caliber weapon, check them out.

Coupon code "FNS"

Granted, Buds has M&P40's for $359

Not really sure, probably marketing. I recently got one and I like it a lot. Very accurate and so far it's been flawless. Only downside I'd say is that spare mags are pricey.

Would be great if it was in 9mm.

It wouldn't be 359 if it was 9mm

Wonder if you can convert between .40 and 9 like you can with M&Ps and such. Magazine and barrel change.

The FNS 40 and FNS 9 share the same frame.  You're able to swap the entire slide assembly out completely if you want, but the pricing on a complete 9mm slide is more than some sale-priced FNS 9 pistols, so that isn't really cost effective.

The FNS 40 and FNX 40 mags are interchangeable.  The FNS 9 and FNX 9 mags aren't.  There are ribs on the FNX 40 mags, but not on the FNX 9 mags.  In order to set the FNS frame up to be able to swap entire slide assemblies, FN had to redesign the FNS 9 mags to incorporate those ribs.  This is per FN.

If you could get an aftermarket conversion barrel, the caliber change with your existing set-up is entirely possible.  That's probably the most cost effective route.  Otherwise, you could always try to source an entire FNS 9 slide assembly.  The standard factory 9mm barrel won't work without the factory 9mm slide.

EFK is showing that they make a conversion barrel for the FNS 40 to 9 for $154.99 in stainless or $204.99 in black.

I'm not a big fan of .40SW, so I don't own many pistols chambered in the caliber.  I have a FNP 40 that I bought used (like new) back when Davidson's was blowing out FNP 40 mags for $6 each.  I got the gun with 3 mags and then bought 12 more new factory mags all for under $200.  I just bought a FNS 40 on this deal.  If I can find some cheap mags for it eventually, that will round out my hammer and striker fired .40SW collection quite nicely.  I wasn't really in the market for either of these pistols, but I'm extremely happy with the purchases.

On the FNS? I've found the triggers to be pretty good, actually. Not as good as like the PPQ or VP9, but the break and reset seemed better than on Glocks.

early fn .40s had issues. fnx .40 is a solid gun in single action. good luck finding extra mags and holsters. I traded mine in for a golck 23.

I got both.

This was the inspiration that sold me.

I picked up the 9mm SD and 7 extra mags for $465 shipped.  The gun comes with 2 mags.  An extra $10 shipping for the free mag, holster, and mag pouch and I'm all in with transfer fee for $500!  Now I just need cerakote and suppressor sights.

I had the FNX 45 and it felt spongy and the reset was nothing like my Glocks.

FNX != FNS. FNS is striker fired. FNX is hammer fired. The triggers are completely different.
