who hoo. I just got what I think is a really good deal on a Hi-Power. Haven't gone to look at it yet but it comes with ammo,2 mags,military flap holster and a shoulder holster. As far as I know it is an Inglis.

Real nice deal!
Make sure that you polish the facing side of the mag (where it contacts the disconnect). You'll get a noticably smoother trigger pull. |

Inglis...that makes it a "home made" gun for Striker? Removing the disconnect will improve let off to super nice. No more creep or drag. WARNING; gun will fire with magazine removed, however. I removed just the disconnector spring, and reinstalled the disconnector, just to fill the hole. It works fine too.

Thanks for the info anothergene. I'm hoping it is an Inglis for that very reason but even if it isn't I'm still going to get it. Now..problem number 1. You guys have any tips,tricks,or secrets for getting it to my gun cabinet without the "boss" seeing it?

The BHP's I see are going for $500 plus, I hope some more surplus ones come in from Argentina.

Update. Went to look at it today. It is an Inglis
 It has the adjustable rear sight.  I was hoping for fixed rear sights but.... Nice leather shoulder holster,and the original grips plus a pachmyer wrap around grip. Going to start the ball rolling tomorrow to transfer the registration.

Whats wrong with the adjustable sight? I saw (and passed) on the fixed, they have that hump where the sight blade goes in...dont look right. You are getting the one I would choose. Hows the finish? Are those the 13 round mags? Believe it or not, I have some Ram-line 15 round SS for that and they even work! I drilled out the rivet in one and used FEG floorplate, spring and follower so I ended up with a SS 13 round BHP/FEG mag, it never skipped a beat. No private sales there? I ask too many questions, I share your enthusiasm.

anothergene. The method to my maddness is this. I'm hoping to compete next year at the Canadian Armed Forces Small Arms Competition. I'm hedging my bets by trying for service pistol(P-35) as well as service rifle. I wanted fixed sights to practice with.
The finish on it is good. There is some holster wear on the front of the slide. The mags are the original 13 rounders although they have been blocked. All in all..2 holsters,2mags,ammo. Can't really kick about the rear sight. |

Range report.
Took it to the range about a week ago and put a few mags of hp's through it. Shot like a dream. The sight picture is absolutley horrible, another reason I'm going with the fixed sight slide. I didn't shoot for groups as much as plinked with it. A friend who was shooting with me fell in love with it. He has a P-226 layed away and now he wants a Hi-Power too. I'm going to get a fixed sight slide, refinish it with gun kote and make a 2 tone for the heck of it. when I get it done I'll post a pic of it. |

Striker, would it be cheaper to just fit a fixed rear sight onto your current slide?
Great news. I was thinking of trying that, too. I just didn't want to dork up a still-working mag to try it. It's good to know converting them to standard springs is an option. Was there any problem fitting a baseplate, or did they slide right on? |

Yes it does have the slot for the stock. It is one of the Chinese contract HP's.
It might be possible but the tangent rear sight is fastened to the slide in such a way that it wouldn't look "right". Here is a pic albeit a small one.  |

Sounds too good to be any good. Bet it needs work and/or a new barrel at least...good luck though. I see a good-shape Inglis made in Canada one in Guns Canada website for more money but better looking, and it has a picture...check it out.

Striker, TRB,the floorplates slid right on the ramlines, Just getting the rivet out was the hardest part. An FEG follower and spring and floor plate fit too. Also, I have two Ramlines for your Taurus, one blue one SS if you want them. They are 17 shot and just sitting on top of my safe. Are you allowed to have those? Selling your adj. sight slide?

anothergene thank you very much for the offer. Unfortunately hi-cap mags are banned in Canada.  I wasn't planning on selling my slide but I might be able to fix you up with one down the road. Depending on whether or not a friend sells his to another friend who will probabley upgrade to a fixed sight too.! Confused yet?

Yes we have a grandfather clause. Being a federal LEO does squat for me as far as buying hi-caps. Getting caught trying to ship across the border would be very bad mojo. Besides..only having 10 rounds forces you to train more and be more accurate.
